Medi Weight Loss Ingredients and Side Effects

Here are some noteworthy ingredients added to their supplements:

South African Hoodia Gordonii Extract

Guarana Extract

Caffeine

Green Tea Extract

Cyanocobalamin

Chromium Picolinate

Capsimax

Ginger

Sucralose

Acesulfame K

South African Hoodia Gordonii Extract:  A kind of cactus found in parts of Africa which is used to suppress appetite. Web MD has expressed warning by stating:

“There isn’t enough information to know if hoodia is safe”

Guarana Extract: The seeds of this plant are used to provide stimulant effects. It has added caffeine, theobromine, and other stimulants. This can potentially cause:

       • High blood pressure, nausea, and delirium.

       • Vomiting, difficulty breathing, and tremors.

• Increased heart rate, nervousness, and ringing the ears.

Our review experts have crafted a list featuring the best weight loss diets.

Caffeine: Common stimulant added to increase energy and metabolism. Potential side effects may include:

       • Rapid heart rate, insomnia, and tremors.

• Nausea, stomach discomfort, and high blood pressure.

       • Agitation, headaches, and irregular heart rate.

Green Tea Extract: Antioxidant rich tea that also contains stimulants. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health has reviewed this and found that green tea extracts:

“haven’t been shown to produce a meaningful weight loss in overweight or obese adults”

Acesulfame K: Artificial sweetener that is around 200 times much sweeter than standard sugar. The hormone and Metabolic Research journal found that it caused:

“acts as sweetener, but in high doses, can also induce insulin secretion”

Therefore, it still has an effect on blood sugar.

Advice on what to eat for the nutrition portion is provided, but it’s unknown what kind of specific diet plan will be recommended.  3 phases are emphasized:

Acute Weight loss Phase: Medical needs and medical history are examined. They also perform blood work, an EKG, and offer weekly consultations. They examine overall heath and body compositions while offering medication for those who need it.

BMI is also examined to help determine current weight loss and what realistic goals are possible.

Vitamin injections and information on supplements is also offered.

• Short-term maintenance phase: Goal weight is reached and there’s an allowance for more calories.

• Wellness Phase: Motivation, support, and further testing are done on metabolism. There are monthly visits and supplements offered.

The goal of this is to offer specialized support for people to truly reach weight loss. It is said to have been:

“Developed and administered by healthcare experts”

The nutrition part of the plan emphasizes low calories and carbohydrates with increased protein intake. Since this plan is very specialized it’s impossible to determine how it will affect individual people.

There is information online which claims it’s extremely low calorie. Some have even said they were reduced to only 500 calories a day, which is considered a very low calorie plan that requires medical support. This can be potentially dangerous and difficult to maintain.

Follow the link here for a comprehensive list of the top ranked weight loss diets.

EDITOR’S TIP: Combine this diet with a proven meal replacement such as 18 Shake for better results.

Medi Weight Loss Quality of Ingredients

The food advised is natural and wholesome, though it’s unknown how many total calories will be allowed as it varies per person.

The kinds of ingredients used in the recipes are wholesome herbs, spices, and natural ingredients. They also provide nutrition facts so you know the exact nutrient information.

One can lose weight with a restricted calorie and exercise plan, but it’s unknown if all the ingredients provided in this are wholesome. There’s also a lack of information on what specifically will be offered in terms of calories, as this largely depends on each individuals metabolism. For the list of the highest rated weight loss diets, click on the link here.

Other ingredients of concern are the one’s added to their weight loss supplements. These will be recommended, and they include artificial sweeteners and potentially harmful stimulants.

The Price and Quality of Medi Weight Loss

Prices can vary but their official weight loss program has been estimated from anywhere to $70 to $80 per week, with a consultation price of around $300.

This can vary depending on individual needs and what center is visited. There are multiple centers which require check ins and strict limits on what’s allowed.

The overall quality of the weight loss supplements is poor, due to the heavy use of stimulants and artificial sweeteners.

Business of Medi Weight Loss

The name of the company is also Medi Weight Loss, their contain information is listed as:

Phone Number: (813) 228-6334

Address: 509 S. Hyde Park Ave

             Tampa, Florida 33606

They require strict dedication from users, and each person will have a different experience due to the varying degrees of effort. Click the link here for a comprehensive list of the best weight loss diets.

Customer Opinions of Medi Weight Loss

Here are some select reviews from users:

“So overwhelmed with the information, I wish I knew about the effort before I paid”

“have to take the initiative to effect weight loss otherwise it will return as soon as you stop”

“terrible service and they failed to honor their promises. Wasted $800 for just 2 months”

“took their appetite suppressant and started to experience dizziness, cold sweats and nausea”

There were many complaints from users. This was due to the high price, difficulty of use, and the amount of effort needed for weight loss.

Price was also a major concern as people said it costs a lot of money to sustain. For a list featuring the top ranked weight loss diets, follow the link here.

I hear everyone that they spend so much money. Sometimes you got to make some sacrifices. But my insurance pays for most of it. I only pay a $25 copay. And sometimes I get buy the shakes and sometimes I don't. They don't obligate me to buy anything. Sometimes I want the protein sometimes I don't. But I successfully lost almost 30 pounds. Something that my doctor could not successfully help me do. I have thyroid and it was very hard for me to lose weight. I never felt so much better. I have so much energy now. It all depends on the individual. You don't need to buy everything they have. You can always substitute by going to the grocery and more or less know what you want to eat. Is all about eating healthier and staying healthier ,maintaining healthy workouts. I used to supplements and also the vitamins. But like I said you can always look for something similar and CVS or Walgreens. I don't go every week. Sometimes I skip a week. But it still works for me because I keep in mind what I need to do. So for me it has been a success. Not everything in life is perfect. If it works for you then continue to do the program and go for your goal. If it don't. Then you need to find something that will suit your needs.

Every person has their own particular reason for seeking medical weight loss assistance. What works for one may not be the plan for another! I specifically called and spoke with "Christy" prior to my visit and I explained that I periodically seek medical weight loss assistance in the spring to BOOST my exercise productivity from winter hibernation. My goal is to shave about 10-15 lbs winter weight MAX! I typically will use Phentermine for about 3 to 4 months to accomplish this. THIS IS ALL THAT I WANTED AND THAT WAS MADE CLEAR FROM THE START!

This is not my 1st rodeo, this is something that I do EVERY YEAR for the last six years. The facility I previous utilized I thought was pricey and this time I will give Medi weight loss a shot, worst decision ever! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CENTER. This facility is OVER BILLING people and their insurance company for services that has not been requested to promote and sell their VITAMINS!

Their disclosure procedure is deceptive. Upon arrival they give you a 8 to 10 page disclosure package to review and sign and I must admit that I should have read it more carefully but since I did speak with Christy prior to my visit I basically trusted she had a since of my goals. I trusted a stranger who didn't have my best interest, Her interest was billing!

I didn't go to the center for 6 bottles of VITAMINS which I have no ideal whats in it, A BRUNCH OF TEST I HAVE ALREADY DONE WITH ANOTHER FACULTY JUST 4 MONTHS AGO AND A FOOD CHART. I have no problems with my eating habits. This company billed my insurance and me $553.00 with intentions of charging roughly $165.00 every week for 7 phentermine pills at a time. This is not what I wanted. They had ample opportunity to inform me that what I needed was not something they can provide but yet they did not. Their procedure is do 1st and speak later. BILLING SCAM!

I lost 11 lbs overall, and 13 lbs of fat on the Medi Weightloss program. That means I gained 2 lbs of muscle, lost 6 inches off my waist, dropped 2 pants sizes, lost 1 inch off my neck, and lost those awful droopy hound dog cheeks. I look years younger in 11 weeks.

My husband has lost 40 lbs so far and all of it is fat loss (was 246 lbs, now 204). He’s averaging a loss 1/4 lbs per day and should reach his 195 lb goal weight pretty soon. He looks amazing, his energy is way up, his blood pressure and testosterone are back to normal!!! Our sugar cravings have vanished and we are enjoying protein and vegetable rich mealtimes like we never have before.

My brother texted me today, lost 13 lbs in his first week!

Our ages range from 46 to 59.

We all are following the recommended 5 days/week exercise component of the program. Between the 3 of us, we do floor exercises (calisthenics), walking, golf and use hand weights or machines at the gym. There is not a rigid exercise program, just find a way to keep steady cardio or weight bearing movement for at least 20 minutes each day.

My husband’s doctor is the Supervising Physician for the center we go to in West Houston. It is managed by a very professional Nurse Practitioner and her staff of two LVN’s.

It definitely works for the three of us and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance covers it.

Easily the best medical decision I have made in my life!

I am on medi right now and it has worked great! I have lost over 70lb in 6 months and, as I keep telling people, the diet has been easy if not fun... those of us who are or were fat LIKE eating which is why we got fat. I can't eat the same things or the amount I used to but it has so been worth it.

The cost is essentially zero... all insurance plans cover the full cost of weight loss programs and the medication is free. The only thing you would pay for is a copay for a check by a doctor once every 2.5 months and the suppliments if you want them.

1st of all, if you are NOT ready to commit and change your eating habits then find another quick diet regimen because this is NOT a quick fix, this is a life style change and it changed my life forever! I am on a weight loss journey and have lost 85 lbs so far in 6 months! I have documented my journey since day one and invite all to watch me reach my goal of losing 100 lbs! I have a YouTube channel under kimber62372 and facebook page at kcurrieweightloss. Please follow me on my journey and give me some support and this is what keeps me going! :) Medi staff is wonderful and if it wasn't for them I would have not know that I was mildly anemic. I have went from MORBIDLY OBESE to OVER WEIGHT in months and have the confidence and will power to keep it off! Love this place with a passion! I am blessed and thankful to have found them! :)

I have tried so many ways to lose weight and Medi Weightloss was by the far the best for me! I lose 55 pounds in 7 months and the medication made it very easy to stick to the plan. I like certain staff members better than others but all of them did a good job holding me accountable every week. The products are expensive but most are worth it. I like the protein bars the best and ate 1 almost everyday. Overall it's expensive BUT I saved a lot of money on food - it's probably equal to the amount of money I would have spent on eating out and fast food. Instead I lost weight! Its not for the casual diet. You need to be committed and do what they tell you. If you do it WILL work for you.

NOTHAPPY

I had high hopes but it turns out to be just an expensive place to get weighed every week.

The center I go to wanted the whole payment up front so I've forked over $1300 dollars. But at the time, I thought, hey, I'm going to get this great help and everything is included.

Imagine my surprise when I lost my food log and they said...."That will be $6.00 to replace it". At the same weigh-in, I had run out of a couple of supplements so I said I need such & such and she said that will $12 and I stopped her. I said.... the supplements aren't included? "What did I just pay $1300 for if everything is extra?" Needless to say, I was upset. I understand that the protein powders or bars are extra but to charge $6 to replace a food log........that is just ridiculous.

The next week I could not make my weigh-in due to work so I called. She said, we require 24 hour notice or we charge you. I said WHAT THE???? Let me get this straight.....I paid you $1300 up front and now everything I need to work within the program is EXTRA and if I don't make a weight-in you charge me!!!!! That's right, if I can't make my weigh-in I had to pay anyway as if I'm actually seeing a doctor. This is a weight program not a doctor visit!

This program is a complete waste. I've never seen a doctor and I'm basically paying $80 a week (all up front) to have someone weigh me and take my blood pressure. I can do that at home. I am not getting anything else for my money.

I feel completely duped because no one explained to me that after I paid $1300, everything was extra. So that bag you leave with after the first appointment is the last "freebee" you will get.

Save your money. Order Medi-fast and drink the shakes during the day and eat a lean & green meal. Works just as well and you won't get duped into this money sucking program. The Franchisee makes money and you get fleeced!!

The "medical visit" was amateurish; they said I had a "block" on my EKG, couldn't get a good test and didn't take it again but went ahead with the program anyway. They made 3 attempts to take blood, and I ended up throwing up in the bathroom from dizziness from all the sticks. They sent me home driving myself while I was dizzy. I went to a local hospital for an EKG out of fear and it proved normal. I complained to Medi Weightloss and never heard back. Meanwhile they took a few hundred dollars from me. Never again.

I have never been pressured to buy anything at Medi. My first week was tough, but any change is hard. I was given a base line of 600-700 calories per day, and truly was not hungry. The secret was the appetite suppressants, which they DO wean you off fairly quickly, and eating something small every few hours. It isn't cheap, but I am on my way to my goal of losing 50 pounds, and feel like I have gained the skills to keep it off when I get there. Like anything else, this isn't for everyone. Find what works for you and ignore what doesn't. The main takeaway I have is that I FEEL so much better. I'm healthier, happier, and I've lost the sluggishness I felt with all the extra pounds.

Well, I've worked here as well as some other clinics as a "counselor" although now I'm a "real" state licensed therapist. Looking back, it can be helpful as it provides the rules , info and structure but one can do well with seeing someone like me - highly experienced with medical and psychological training and personal experience in weight loss with customized , similar plans as well.
One of the expense wastes/rips though is with programs like LA weight loss, Their diet plans are fantastic.. balenced healthy and flexible but then they push you to purchase 'bars'. I don't recommend condesced calorie carbs on any aggressive weight loss plan. Especially when you pay 3x the value for them..

I have had fantastic results with MEDI (nearly 30 lbs in 3 months). The reason it's hard to find a pat answer regarding costs is because the program is different for every customer. And, that's a misunderstanding about the first week being "a 500 calorie" diet...that is a "minimum" (not the maximum). I have tried them all - and had success with many - but feel like the MEDI program really works for me. Please also note that I have never been pressured to purchase any MEDI-brand convenience foods or supplements. That is purely a choice-based option and not necessary for the program's success. It's a low carb, calorie-controlled diet with the help of B-vitamin injections and an Rx appetite suppressant that's been around since the 50's. I have experienced no negative effects (other than the sting of the injection!). I have recommended the program to several of my friends/family who struggle with their weight. I think that people who fall into the "fit but fat" category might see the greatest results with this program because it's clear that fitness plus being accountable with your calories is vital. The better you maintain your journal, the better you'll do with this program.
