Interview with Filipe Fa, Eliminated Biggest Loser Week 17

filipe-fa-biggest-loser“I have no regrets, I know I gave it my all,” says Felipe Fa about his experience on Biggest Loser season eight. While he won’t be considered a finalist, he was on the ranch for the entire 17 weeks, an accomplishment worth being very proud of. After his elimination, the final four were also sent home to do it on their own for 30 days before moving on to the season finale. Filipe played every moment of the game with heart, and every time the audience needed it the most, gave us a good reason to laugh.

Filipe lost a total of 130 pounds on the ranch, going from 364 pounds down to 234. He said he left with a positive outlook and “really realized the whole purpose of this show — to inspire people.” He says that he was able to connect with Bob in that final week, and took to heart some advice from his beloved trainer. Bob Harper told him the show was “not about winning a game, but fixing what’s broken.”

Listen now to hear the DietsInReview.com interview with Filipe, before reading more. He shares the five moments that were most epic for him in this most epic of Biggest Loser seasons.

Coleen’s Biggest Loser Recap 7-15

The game is on at the Biggest Loser ranch as the contestants strap in for one crazy challenge. Hovering over a deep canyon are wire cables that run from one side to the next. By using only two cables, the contestants will have to stride their way across 700 feet of canyon to the other side. The highest point of the canyon has the contestants dangling 110 feet in the air, or 10 stories high! As they traverse for the chance to win a $25,000 kitchen makeover and their refrigerators restocked with healthy goodness, Tara and Filipe fight neck-and-neck for the big win. Even after losing her step, Tara pulled her way back up and took the lead from Filipe. (more…)

Interview with Mandi Kramer, Eliminated Biggest Loser Week 10

Before the Biggest Loser, Mandi Kramer said she was shy and not entirely happy with her body. Having grown up in a house with a bodybuilding mother, she said her rebellion was leaving the pressures of a perfectly heatlhy family and eating whatever she wanted and dismissing exercise. All of this took its toll, and although Mandi was 263 pounds when she started at the ranch, it still took convincing for her husband to understand why she had to go. Today, she says she’s a stronger, more independent person than she ever was. The new Mandi has a better relationship with her husband, her two young sons, her teammate and sister Aubrey, but most importantly herself.

This week the contestants were greeted by Ali Sweeney and offered an opportunity to have $25,000 if they chose to leave the Biggest Loser ranch this instant. She even offered a limo ride to the airport! It was a matter of how commited they were to changing their lives or whether they were in this game just for the cash prize. Joelle had some weighing thoughts on the matter and almost crossed the line to take the cash.
