So when a\u00a0Hollywood icon loses a lot <\/em>of weight, you can bet every anchor on InsideTMZAccessEdition<\/em> will be covering it. And yeah, we are, too. So why isn’t anyone talking about Kevin Smith? Well, we are!<\/p>\n The talented producer, writer, actor and self-described “goofy spaz” recently lost 20+ pounds, but unlike shaving his trademark beard and mustache (pictured below) it wasn’t for a movie. During a radio interview with the Todd-N-Tyler Radio Empire, the cult-classic filmmaker talked about his weight loss.<\/p>\n “I watched this documentary called Fed Up<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and it scared me,” he said. “It was the scariest thing I’ve seen on film. It broke down the process of storing sugar in the body in a way that I had never understood previously.”<\/p>\n Look at this goofy spaz. This is me, beardless, for the @YogaHosers<\/a> green screen shoot. #FaceBrazilian<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/MZXFJoAoy9<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 KevinSmith (@ThatKevinSmith) October 27, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n For years, the Silent Bob star embraced self-deprecating humor about his weight, calling his podcast “Fatman on Batman<\/em>,” and naming his recent comedy special, “Too Fat for 40.<\/em>” But after he was asked to de-board a Southwest Flight<\/a><\/strong> in 2026 because the airline said his weight “posed a safety hazard to his fellow passengers,” Smith made several attempts to drop pounds with little success.<\/p>\n This time, Smith took off the weight by cutting out processed foods and added sugar. “Basically, you bring your diet down to things you make yourself. If you can’t or wouldn’t make it, don’t eat it,” he explained. “Like Cheez-Its, man, no one would ever make those. I love Cheeze-Its just as much as the next guy, but do you know how long it would take you to make Cheeze-Its?”<\/p>\n He admits the first few weeks were tough.\u00a0“There wasn’t a lot of physical discomfort except for a mild headache,” he said. “But it played with me psychologically.” Kevin couldn’t understand why he felt so”bereft” until his wife explained the probable reason for his funk. She said, “All of your happy, your dopamine, came from sugar. Your body is crashing. Now you have to start manufacturing it yourself.”<\/p>\n What food does Kevin miss the most?<\/strong> Bubble gum-flavored jelly beans, which he says are “amazing” because “they taste like bubble gum but you can still swallow them.”<\/p>\n Smith recently finished working on the movie Yoga Hosers,<\/em> featuring his daughter and Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose. During filming, he forced himself to stand instead of sit and walk between takes. “So while I stand there every day making this weird little movie with my kid and her friend in it, I’ve been quietly cutting pounds in the process.”<\/p>\n Also Read:<\/strong><\/p>\n WHOA!
