Josh has lost another 55 pounds, had skin removal surgery, and even became a personal trainer. It&#8217;s the kind of story that deserves being told once&#8230; twice&#8230; as many times as we can!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Losing more than 300 pounds is crazy!&#8221; he told DietsInReview.com.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI went from [being] the unhappy, depressed, lonely person to someone full of energy and hope for the future,\u201d he said. \u201cSome days I am just blown away by how far I came in just two and half years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s right! Less than three years and more than 300 pounds later, Josh is a new man!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hard work, dedication and clean eating, while following <strong><a title=\"chris powell biggest loser\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/jillian-is-out-two-new-coaches-are-in-biggest-loser-shakes-it-up-for-season-16\/\">Chris Powell<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s Carb Cycling Plan, put Josh on the path to long-term success. While he&#8217;s still committed to eating clean, he doesn\u2019t necessarily follow the Carb Cycling Plan anymore.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAs far as my diet goes now, I kind of do my own thing,\u201d he said. That is truly a mark of success. The diet framework, for all its bad attributes, can actually be very supportive. It&#8217;s when you can take what you learned, lay it aside and say to yourself, &#8220;I&#8217;ve got this&#8221; that you&#8217;ve truly transformed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Learning which foods he should eat and which foods he should not, paying close attention to nutritional values, and staying away from processed foods keeps Josh on track these days. Temptations are still a \u201cconstant battle,\u201d but Josh refuses to let it knock him off track.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBefore I would get down on myself when I fell into temptations, and then it seemed like the rest of the day was ruined,\u201d he said. Now, it\u2019s easier to bounce back.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">His day-to-day has changed, too, especially now that he\u2019s a personal trainer. Josh trains people three mornings a week, works a full-time job, and trains others three nights a week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI never dreamed before I started that I would be a personal trainer, but it is one of the most rewarding feelings helping out people and using what I gained from my journey to help make someone\u2019s life better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a title=\"josh steele 300 pounds weight loss\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/josh-steele-lost-305-pounds-and-became-a-personal-trainer-to-change-more-than-his-own-life\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-101369\" alt=\"josh-steele-305-pound-before-after\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/josh-steele-305-pound-before-after.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/josh-steele-305-pound-before-after.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/josh-steele-305-pound-before-after-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/josh-steele-305-pound-before-after-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now that he\u2019s closer to his goal weight, he doesn\u2019t work out as often as he did at the beginning of his journey (which was twice a day!), but still gets in five or six workouts a week.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He even joins his clients to push them, but \u201cwhat they don\u2019t realize is that it pushes me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During his workouts, Josh focuses on circuit training and <strong><a title=\"hiit at home workout\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/slideshows\/hiit-at-home-workout\/\">HIIT training<\/a><\/strong> to get his heart pumping. He\u2019s also trying <strong><a title=\"crossfit review\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/crossfit\/\">CrossFit<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI love the type of workouts where I feel drained afterwards,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is rewarding when, after a workout, a client will say, \u2018Wow that really kicked my butt!&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For those starting their own weight loss journey, Josh simply says: \u201cBelieve in yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cGoing through a weight loss journey will be tough, but being overweight and unhappy is so much tougher than losing weight,\u201d he said. You will hit hurdles, he said, and what you do next is what shows your true character.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cSo just get up and start moving!
