Know\u00a0what your body is best suited for:<\/strong>\u00a0So you&#8217;ve already signed up for a gymnastic class at your local\u00a0gym but you&#8217;re 5&#8242; 7&#8243;. Not to\u00a0dash your hopes at a gold medal, but most gymnasts are\u00a0under 5 feet (Shawn Johnson is a petite 4&#8217;8&#8243;). They pack a lot of power and speed in those compact bodies.\u00a0The take-home message with this suggestion\u00a0is to\u00a0work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Eat_Right_for_Your_Type\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Eat right for your body type\">your body type<\/a>, not\u00a0against it. If you love to be active and want to invest some energy into\u00a0excelling at\u00a0an activity but don&#8217;t\u00a0know what you&#8217;re\u00a0suited for, seek the counsel\u00a0a trained exercise physiologist. He or she will be able to take a logical look at your body composition and\u00a0your muscle fibers to determine what kind of sport\u00a0you are\u00a0best suited for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. The Power of Protein:<\/strong>\u00a0Much\u00a0attention has been placed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/08\/eat-like-an-olympian-with-this-baja-chicken-salad-recipe\/\" title=\"olympic athlete's diet\" target=\"_blank\">what the Olympic athletes eat<\/a> to maintain their endurance and keep them healthy. Every\u00a0piece of dietary advice from the athletes themselves, their personal\u00a0nutritionists or their trainers include the\u00a0&#8220;p&#8221; word: Protein. The key to developing\u00a0muscle and keeping your energy levels sustained throughout the\u00a0day, whether you&#8217;re\u00a0swimming four hours or sitting at your desk for four hours, is to include a lean protein source in each meal\u00a0or snack\u00a0you eat.<\/p>\n<p>For most of us, you can find out how many grams of protein you need by\u00a0dividing your body weight in pounds by 2.2. This will give you your weight in kilograms. Next, multiply this number by 1.5 to get\u00a0the average number of protein grams you should consume each\u00a0day. Many of the Olympic athletes are eating 3 to 5 times the amount of average protein intakes for their weight and size because of their training and physical needs, they require more.<\/p>\n<p>Have fun as you apply some of the tips and inspiration of these Olympic athletes into your own life.
