Due to it being just one single patented ingredient, the makers ran their own studies to show this works. The manufacturers do mention that it has to be combined with a \u201csensible diet and exercise regimen\u201d. Is it really helpful for suppressing appetite? What kind of proof does the company provide, and have people actually lost weight from it? You\u2019ll learn all you need to know in this review.<\/p>\n\n

Slendesta: <\/strong>Patented form of all natural potato skin extract that\u2019s used to suppress appetite and help one feel full longer. The way it\u2019s meant to work is by providing what\u2019s known as Proteinase Inhibitor 2, which is often found in white potatoes.<\/p>\n

It helps improve the release of Cholecystokinin, the natural hormone in the human body that helps digest protein and fat.<\/p>\n

This travels through many organs in the body including the stomach and brain. It\u2019s used to feel satiated and to no longer have the urge to eat.<\/p>\n

The way Slendesta is meant to help with weight loss is via helping one:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cmanage their hunger, reduce their calorie intake with smaller portions, and control between meal snacking\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

So users of this ingredient still have to make sure they put in the effort to help lose weight. You\u2019d still have to watch what you eat and make sure to implement a plan. Without it, it\u2019s still possible to gain weight. Though one might feel less hungry, this is no guarantee of weight loss. There\u2019s no fat burning, increase in energy, or vitamins and minerals provided in any form.<\/p>\n

The manufacturers have clinically tested this ingredient for safety around 11 times.<\/p>\n

It still remains a nutritional supplement, and has not been patented to be proven to work for appetite suppression or weight loss.<\/p>\n\n

Slendesta Quality Of Ingredients<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

However, after submitting this ingredient for review to the European Food Safety Authority, which is similar to the FDA, they fully reviewed it and concluded this ingredient wasn\u2019t effective for weight loss.<\/p>\n

The EFSA adds that a:<\/p>\n

\u201ccause and effect relationship has not been established between the consumption of Slendesta Potato Extract and reduction of body weight\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though the makers of Slendesta disagreed:<\/p>\n

\u201cthere is a significant body of evidence supporting Slendesta\u2019s weight-loss efficacy\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Still, judging from the unbiased and thorough review, it\u2019s unlikely this ingredient will have any weigh loss benefit. The EFSA would be considered one of the least biased groups, since it\u2019s a government group that has no stake in the selling of this ingredient.<\/p>\n

The EFSA has also disagreed with the company in the past for other ingredients that were claimed to be effective.<\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t see any weight loss benefit to Slendesta because:<\/p>\n

\u201cno conclusions can be drawn from this meta-analysis\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to them, the scientific studies ran by the owners of Slendesta were from poor science. This makes a large portion of the supposed scientific trials ran by the company illegitimate.<\/p>\n

On the official company website there\u2019s a section just for Slendesta that reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral human clinical studies of Slendesta on over 500 participants\u2026. (show Slendesta to be) safe and effective in helping people meet their weight management goals:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThese studies evaluated satiety and weight loss\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though these studies do sound impressive since they were performed on many people, the EFSA concludes that the information presented is not valid.<\/p>\n

They mention that the kind of lifestyle needed to have weight loss was not set. Without this key information, it\u2019s possible for it to be manipulated to help make this ingredient seem better than it actually is. \u00a0They also add:<\/p>\n

\u201cthe study selection is not appropriate to fulfill the purpose of this meta-analysis\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many times in their review of this supplement the studies didn\u2019t hold up to legitimate scientific standards. This also might be why many of the reviews for supplements with this ingredient have been negative.<\/p>\n

The Price and Quality of Slendesta<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

This ingredient is often added to weight loss supplements, but it may also be added to certain foods and drinks.<\/p>\n

The price also depends on what supplement or food you get it from. Many supplements using this ingredient will feature it on its own, with around 300 mg as well as added inactive ingredients.<\/p>\n

One brand claiming using this ingredient as its only active ingredient claims that it helps to provide hunger control and it sells a 15-day serving for $16.63.<\/strong>This averages to a daily price of $1.10. <\/strong>Though cheap, as mentioned before, Slendesta has not been proven to work.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important to read the label and see if any of the inactive ingredients are potentially harmful. Sometimes brands can be full of fillers, food coloring, sugar, or artificial ingredients. This can cause for the overall value to be reduced, since you\u2019re taking in unnecessary ingredients that may cause harm<\/p>\n

At any price point however, this brand isn\u2019t the best since it\u2019s yet to be proven to be effective by unbiased sources. You\u2019re essentially paying for an ingredient that according to the EFSA has not been proven to work by legitimate science.<\/p>\n

Side effects can also be hard to determine on who\u2019s responsible, since the company does make this ingredient, a possible contamination may be the fault of 2 different companies.<\/p>\n

No complaints have been filed against the company on their Better Business Bureau page; however, they also don\u2019t deal with returns, so there would really be no reason for customers to review them. No reviews either positive or negative are featured on their page.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unknown how they treat customers who call in to ask questions. They claim to offer support for all their customers. Though by looking at the available evidence, it doesn\u2019t appear this brand will have any effect at all.<\/p>\n\n

Reviews for this have been extremely negative. Not only did people not experience any weight loss, but also many said they didn\u2019t feel less hungry. No issues with side effects were listed however.<\/p>\n

Not all supplement brands offer legitimate or effective return policies. Depending on where you get your supplement from, they could either have no returns, returns only with a processing and restocking fee, or other potential issues.<\/p>\n
