Cardio kickboxing has become a\u00a0very popular group <a title=\"fitness class\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/12\/most-popular-fitness-classes\/\" target=\"_self\">fitness class<\/a> and can be found in just about any health or fitness club today.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/beginners-guide-to-boxing\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16127\" title=\"boxing\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/boxing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cardio kickboxing incorporates total body\u00a0cardiovascular training with sport-specific techniques with\u00a0or without equipment. An hour\u00a0of cardio kickboxing can burn, on average, around 1,000 calories.\u00a0Be sure to contact\u00a0your physician before participating in a cardio kickboxing class, especially if you have limitations or high risk factors such as <a title=\"high blood pressure\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/understanding-obesity-related-diseases-hypertension-and-high-blood-pressure\/\" target=\"_self\">high blood pressure<\/a> or cholesterol, family history of <a title=\"heart disease risk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/understanding-obesity-related-diseases-heart-disease\/\" target=\"_self\">heart disease<\/a>, age, and certain body weight.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Shadow boxing is a popular workout tool as well. I use this form of exercise\u00a0almost every session\u00a0with my clients, and they seem to love every second of it. I use a series of jabs, hooks, upper-cuts, and kicks to get the\u00a0entire body\u00a0involved and the\u00a0heart rate racing. I typically use shadow boxing as a second warm-up activity (following a mile on the <a title=\"cardio\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/09\/one-month-beginner-cardio-program\/\" target=\"_self\">treadmill<\/a> or elliptical).<\/p>\n<p>I have my clients participate in no more than 15 minutes of shadow boxing due to the intensity and elevated heart rate. Fifteen minutes of shadow boxing with me burns around 300 to 400 calories (without stopping).
