Well, there are two ways to look at this question.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s take 10 pounds of fat versus 10 pounds of muscle.\u00a0Ten pounds is 10 pounds, right? Yes. But, the 10 pounds of fat is much bulkier than the 10 pounds of muscle. Another way of looking at it is that\u00a0a 10-pound pile of fat will take\u00a0up more\u00a0space than a 10-pound pile of muscle. So, more muscle would be needed to equal the space or volume of fat, thus making the pile of muscle weigh more.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/the-skinny-on-muscle-and-fat\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-19836\" title=\"fat burning\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/arm-fat-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/arm-fat-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/arm-fat.jpg 426w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That being said, let&#8217;s go into how muscle tissue and fat tissue are totally different. People often mistakenly think that doing crunches will turn the layer of fat into muscle. First off, there are three ways of losing weight (burning calories): diet, cardiovascular exercise, and <a title=\"weight training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/a-beginners-guide-to-weight-training\/\" target=\"_self\">weight training<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With your diet, you need to <a title=\"burning calories\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/burning-calories-is-childs-play\/\" target=\"_self\">burn more calories<\/a> than you eat (negative caloric intake). Cardiovascular exercise will burn calories and improve stamina and\u00a0heart strength. Weight training will build muscle and burn calories at the\u00a0same time. The more muscle (lean mass) that you have, the more calories you will burn throughout the entire day.<\/p>\n<p>Women often fear the weight training process, because they are afraid of the bulking effect. Remember that muscle is less dense, burns calories (fat), and provides your body with a\u00a0firmer look. If you diet properly and\u00a0mix plenty of <a title=\"spinning classes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/a-beginners-guide-to-cardio\/\" target=\"_self\">cardiovascular training<\/a> with proper weight training, you will in no shape or form bulk up!
