The beauty of running is that all you need is a comfortable pair of shoes and workout clothing, and BAM!&#8230; you are on your way. Other than that, there&#8217;s no expensive memberships or equipment to buy.<\/p>\n<p>National Running Day is an initiative put forth by a group of organizations across the country, including Boston Athletic Association, <a title=\"healthiest state\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/05\/oregon-has-least-obese-children-mississippi-the-most\/\" target=\"_self\">Oregon<\/a> Track Club, USA Track &amp; Field, among others.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The initiative just wants to designate one day for promoting the <a title=\"exercise high\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/the-exercise-high\/\" target=\"_self\">health benefits<\/a> of running, and to show how accessible it is for nearly everyone.<\/p>\n<p>While it may be too late to participate officially in the celebration today, you can still make today the day that you decide to try out this powerful health-boosting activity the next chance you get.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a beginner, make sure that you keep a few things in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Take it slow. <\/strong>It&#8217;s not a bad idea to walk first, if you don&#8217;t think you are limber enough or quite ready for the cardiovascular challenge. It&#8217;s just important to start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make a goals.<\/strong> After you do it for a few weeks, consider a 5k race.
