Most kids grow up playing sports and are very active, but they do not know the importance of what they are doing. We start teaching our kids math, reading, and writing at young ages; why not throw some physical <a title=\"fitness\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/category\/fitness\/\" target=\"_self\">fitness<\/a> knowledge at them, too?<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/kids-playing.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2475\" title=\"kids-playing\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/kids-playing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students take Physical Education in school, but why stop there? Here is a question for you: Why are kids given recess\u00a0during grade school?\u00a0Recess has been proven to increase classroom management,\u00a0alertness, on-task behavior, and reduce fidgeting. How do you feel when you have been cooped up in an office all day or in the car on a long road trip? Honestly, I would\u00a0feel tired and exhausted.\u00a0Well, our kids feel the same way by being cooped\u00a0up in the classroom all\u00a0day and that is where the importance of Physical Education and recess come into play.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Most people think of\u00a0Physical Education as free time and a waste of\u00a0an hour during the school day. No, no, no; Physical Education and Health classes\u00a0are vital for human\u00a0growth, social skills, team work skills, critical issues knowledge,\u00a0over-all\u00a0health knowledge, and much more. Again, I feel\u00a0we are dropping the ball when it comes to fitness and healthy life styles.\u00a0Take the time to talk to your kids about why fitness is important and how it can help the body and\u00a0all the proven benefits it has. By teaching em&#8217; young, we can make a difference!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits of Physical Fitness (Even at a young age)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Reduces the\u00a0risk of heart disease<\/p>\n<p>2. Helps prevent obesity<\/p>\n<p>3. Increases test scores and work ethic<\/p>\n<p>4. Lowers blood pressure<\/p>\n<p>5. Prevents future life-threatening <a title=\"injury prevention\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/tag\/injuries\/\" target=\"_self\">injuries<\/a> (Hips, Shoulders, Knees, Back)<\/p>\n<p>6.
