But, with the right plan you can overcome the pain and even be successful with your diet in the long run.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s take a look at a few tips to get your diet started off on the right foot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Set Goals <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before you even begin your diet make sure to set your weight loss goals. Whether it\u2019s to <a title=\"lose 15 pounds\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/how-to-lose-15-pounds\/\" target=\"_self\">lose 15 pounds<\/a> or to drop a pant size, make sure you start off with a goal in mind. Just as important as setting goals is figuring out how you\u2019re going to reach these goals. Flying blind isn\u2019t the best way to lose weight so have a clear plan of action in mind before even starting. For example, if you wanted to lose 15 pounds in two months, then you would have to create a calorie deficit of roughly 1000 calories per day, which should be done by reducing caloric intake and burning extra calories through exercise.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Track Your Progress <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The only way you\u2019ll know if your diet program is working is by tracking the progress. You don\u2019t need to weigh yourself everyday (though some find that helpful), but rather track your weight loss or <a title=\"inches lost vs scale weight\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/inches-lost-more-accurate-than-scale-weight\/\" target=\"_self\">inches lost<\/a> (around the waist, for example) and be sure to track them at regular intervals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make a Commitment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong> This sounds like a no-brainer, but many unsuccessful dieters are just not that committed to losing weight. They might want to lose weight, but they don\u2019t want to do the work required to lose weight. Before even starting your diet, ask yourself why you want to lose weight, are you ready to lose weight, what\u2019s your motivation for losing weight and if a setback occurs, are you willing to work through it?
