\"Actress<\/a>The CW announced that Sara Rue<\/a> will be hosting the new reality weight-loss show, Shedding for the Wedding<\/em>. The actress is an ideal selection, having recently lost 50 pounds on the Jenny Craig<\/a> program. Contestants will know that their host has empathy for their difficulties.<\/p>\n

The mid-season show has yet to announce its first airing. For three months, ten overweight couples will live together and compete to drop the most pounds. The winning couple will get the blow-out wedding<\/a> of their dreams. Each week there will be a challenge for smaller pieces of the perfect wedding, from rings to the cake. The couples will also get lots of advice from health professionals and wedding planners.<\/p>\n

Rue is also planning a wedding herself, to education consultant Kevin Price. Now a size 6, she was able to surpass her initial weight-loss goal of 30 pounds<\/a>. “I appreciate that I can put on a pair of jeans and feel good, or that I\u2019m able to try on a wedding dress without being discouraged,” she says.<\/p>\n
