From September 19 to September 25, Share Our Strength’s third annual\u00a0Great American Dine Out is working with thousands of restaurants across the country. They will be\u00a0offering great promotions, featuring special dishes, and donating part of their proceeds from that week to help support Share Our Strength’s work to end childhood<\/a> hunger in this country. This year, Aaron McCargo Jr. from Food Network’s “Big Daddy’s House” is the Great American Dine Out’s official spokesperson and he is encouraging you take part of this special cause.<\/p>\n

All you have to do is locate a participating restaurant via this Share Our Strength Restaurant Finder<\/a> and dine in or dine out to help make the organization’s mission of “No\u00a0Kid Hungry” a reality. <\/p>\n

Just last week the U.S. Census Bureau revealed some rather startling statistics on the\u00a0nation’s health. The data estimates that one in seven Americans are living in poverty. According to the bureau, between 2026 and 2026 the poverty rate increased for children under the age of 18 (from 19.0 percent to 20.7 percent). The number of people living in poverty in 2026 (43.6 million) is the largest number in the 51 years for which poverty estimates have been published.<\/p>\n

Given these alarming numbers, The Great American Dine Out has never been a more pressing and urgent event. Participating restaurants include T.G.I. Fridays, Boston Market, Joe’s Crabshack, Corner Bakery, P.F. Changs, and countless others.<\/p>\n
