Thankfully, plant-based diets are not a dangerous trend. Many fad diets tend to deprive the body of essential nutrients but\u00a0primarily plant-based diets do not. Whether or not you want to go full-vegan or vegetarian, plant-based diets provide a healthy foundation for your body and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The latest news in mainstream veganism is that Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, has been reported to join the throngs of herbivores. Many of you remember that he\u00a0has suffered from high <a title=\"Low Cholesterol Diet Review\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Low_Cholesterol_Diet\/\" target=\"_self\">cholesterol<\/a> and heart conditions\u00a0for years.\u00a0He underwent a bypass surgery but Clinton&#8217;s cholesterol was still out of control. After undergoing extensive research, he decided to adopt a nearly-vegan lifestyle. He eats small amounts of <a title=\"To Eat Fish or Not?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/10\/to-eat-fish-or-not-to-eat-fish-that-is-the-question\/\" target=\"_self\">fish<\/a> on occasion, but he&#8217;s essentially cut all animal products from his diet. He consumes no dairy and has added a <a title=\"Best Protein Powder Supplements\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/best-protein-powder-supplements\/\" target=\"_self\">protein supplement <\/a>to his diet.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"CNN Wolf Blitzer Interview Video\" href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/video\/#\/video\/us\/2010\/09\/21\/intv.clinton.blitzer\" target=\"_blank\">CNN&#8217;s Wolf Blitzer<\/a> asked Clinton how he lost 24 pounds and gained back his health. Clinton replied, &#8220;I went on essentially a plant-based diet. I live on beans, legumes, vegetables, fruits&#8230; It changed my whole metabolism and I lost 24 pounds.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Plant-based diets are not for everyone.
