He recently bragged to <em><a title=\"Ryan Kwanten Men's Health Interview\" href=\"http:\/\/www.menshealth.com\/men\/fitness\/fitness-tips\/ryan-kwantens-fitness-tips\/article\/e3616bd750602210vgnvcm10000030281eac\" target=\"_blank\">Men&#8217;s Health<\/a><\/em> that he can still get in a good workout while intoxicated. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been known to turn up drunk at triathlons and do very well,&#8221; said the Australian actor in his interview for the November cover story. We don&#8217;t really need to tell you why that&#8217;s not a good idea, right?<\/p>\n<p>The rest of Kwanten&#8217;s workout we can endorse. Once a professional triathlete, he says he works out for his own physical and mental wellness, not just to look good for a role.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m very rarely in the gym. My workouts are predominately outside, in nature.&#8221; He prefers to <a title=\"Best Places to Run in L.A.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/best-places-to-run-in-los-angeles\/\" target=\"_self\">run on mountain trails outside L.A.<\/a> or bike and swim on the beach. Kwanten also recommends engaging in a variety of physical actives. &#8220;There&#8217;s a lot to be said for muscle confusion,&#8221; he says. &#8220;The moment you have monotony, your muscles can fall asleep. Variety makes you much more balanced.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Kwanten also focuses on his <a title=\"core workout\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/06\/getting-to-know-the-core\/\" target=\"_self\">core<\/a> with exercises that utilize his own body weight. &#8220;I love old-school stuff,&#8221; he says, like pushups, situps, pull ups and skipping rope.<\/p>\n<p>And the <a title=\"Calories in Alcohol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/slideshows\/calories-in-alcohol\/white-wine\/\" target=\"_self\">booze<\/a>? He admits to cutting that out, along with refined carbohydrate, when he really has to look ripped.
