But Oprah isn&#8217;t your average woman.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/oprah.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/oprah.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;s one of the most powerful and successful women on the planet. But if there&#8217;s one thing that <a title=\"oprah diet\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Oprah_Diet\/\" target=\"_self\">Oprah<\/a> has had trouble with in her life, it&#8217;s her weight. She&#8217;s notoriously yo-yoed over the years, and now she&#8217;s actually being very candid in saying that she is tipping the scales at 200 pounds again.<\/p>\n<p>She slimmed down to 160 pounds in 2006. But in the upcoming January issue of O magazine, Oprah is spilling the beans on her recent 40-pound weight gain: &#8220;Yes, you&#8217;re adding correctly. That means the dreaded 2-0-0,&#8221; Oprah admits.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m mad at myself&#8230; I&#8217;m embarrassed,&#8221; she writes. &#8220;I can&#8217;t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I&#8217;m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, &#8216;How did I let this happen again?'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 1988, Oprah famously wheeled a wagon loaded with fat onto her talk show set to represent a 67-pound weight loss while wearing a pair of size 10 Calvin Klein jeans.<\/p>\n<p>She lost the weight with a liquid protein diet&#8230; which may help explain why she has yo-yoed over the years. Fad, short-term fixes will only disappoint.<\/p>\n<p>And if I can take the liberty of playing amateur psychologist, maybe there are some deep-seated emotional issues that have been unresolved. If anyone has the ability to surround herself with healthy support &#8211; and has with the likes of fitness guru <a title=\"Bob Greene\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Bob_Greenes_Bestlife\/\" target=\"_self\">Bob Greene<\/a> and <a title=\"Dr. Oz\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Dr_Oz_YOU_On_A_Diet\/\" target=\"_self\">Dr. Oz<\/a> at the ready &#8211; it&#8217;s Oprah Winfrey. So, why does she struggle with her weight unless there are some powerful &#8220;demons&#8221; she&#8217;s dealing with. When she says \u201cI felt like a fat cow,\u201d and \u201cI wanted to disappear,\u201d you can&#8217;t help but think maybe the problem isn&#8217;t in her stomach, but above the shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>At least she seems to be aware of this possibility.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My greatest failure was in believing that the weight issue was just about the weight,&#8221; Winfrey told People Magazine in 1991. &#8220;It&#8217;s about not handling stress properly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Being a billionaire doesn&#8217;t erase all of life&#8217;s problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If there&#8217;s one thing that women will not divulge, it&#8217;s the number on the scale.
