All of the hard work you do during a workout is negated by the poisonous chemicals in a cigarette. Besides that, even a mild smoker\u00a0prevents their organs from performing in top condition and then demands that those same organs support their body during an intense workout.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Smoking is bad but it most<em> especially<\/em> doesn&#8217;t mix well with exercise.\u00a0It increases the\u00a0risk of injury and decreases the body&#8217;s\u00a0ability to recover quickly and completely.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the ways that smoking can effect your <a title=\"A Beginner's Guide to Strength Training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/a-beginners-guide-to-strength-training\/\" target=\"_blank\">exercise routine<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lower endurance levels and fatigue <\/strong>will affect the quality and duration of your exercise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Higher blood pressure and increased heart rate <\/strong>are a result of\u00a0the heart having to work too hard during exercise. Smokers reach this cardiac-wall <em>much<\/em> sooner than non-smokers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shallow, rapid breathing<\/strong> is caused by swelling of the mucous membranes and tar\u00a0coating the lungs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decreased oxygen<\/strong> negatively affects the entire body but during exercise it can be devastating to the muscles.<\/p>\n<p>The solution: Do whatever you can to quit smoking, and until you do, consider keeping your workout mild.
