To lessen the calorie blow that most take-out food delivers, opt to make your own at home.<\/p>\n<p>While some dishes, like vegetables and <a title=\"Spicy Vegetable Stir-Fry Recipe\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/recipes\/spicy-vegetable-stir-fry\/\" target=\"_self\">stir-fry<\/a>, can be easy to make on your own, some won&#8217;t compare to the restaurant-quality versions you know and love.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a fan of Thai spring rolls, you&#8217;ll love these tips from our friend Lynn who blogs at <a title=\"the actor's diet\" href=\"http:\/\/theactorsdiet.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Actor\u2019s Diet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prep your fillings<\/strong>: Lynn recommends a mixture of <a title=\"prepare tofu\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/10\/its-tofu-time-how-to-prepare-tofu-effortlessly\/\" target=\"_self\">tofu<\/a> and shredded vegetables with <a title=\"frish herbs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/time-to-plant-a-garden\/\" target=\"_self\">fresh herbs<\/a>, such as basil and mint. If you have different taste preferences, you can get creative here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use rice paper<\/strong>: Fill a shallow bowl with warm water (just not so hot that you can&#8217;t dip your hands into it). Open a package of rice paper wrappers and dip one into the water. \u00a0After about 20 seconds, it will get soft and pliable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuck and roll<\/strong>: Place the now-clear wrapper onto a plate and put the fillings in the middle. Tuck in both sides of the wrapper over the fillings. Fold the bottom over the fillings\/tucked sides and roll up, just like a burrito.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make dipping sauce<\/strong>: Now that you have your roll, think about your dipping sauce.
