Adding pull-ups to your training regimen doesn&#8217;t involve any fancy equipment because they use your <a title=\"body weight exercises\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/11\/use-your-body-weight-as-effective-fitness-equipment\/\" target=\"_self\">own body weight<\/a> for resistance. Brothers Danny and Al Kavadlo take the traditional pull-up to a whole new level in this short video promoting non-gym exercise.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/16781894\" width=\"400\" height=\"227\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that pull-ups work out the biceps and triceps, but did you know that they also condition the shoulder, back and abdominal muscles? Regular pull-ups (you know, the kind that don&#8217;t involve circus theatrics!) can be extremely difficult, but the physical benefits far outweigh the challenge. Benefits include:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Greater upper body strength<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-36073\" title=\"pull up\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/pull-up.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Greater core strength<\/li>\n<li>Greater endurance<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"improved posture\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/10\/improve-posture-for-surprising-health-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\">Improved posture<\/a> and balance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pull-ups should be added to any athlete&#8217;s or fitness buff&#8217;s regimen, but due to safety concerns, I <strong>highly discourage <\/strong>you from trying a scaffolding workout of your own\u00a0at home!<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t recall very many people from my high school gym class that were able to do more than one or two pull-ups. A lot of\u00a0otherwise fit athletes can&#8217;t even do them, simply because they&#8217;ve never taken the time to train properly.
