Yes, it&#8217;s cheesy and a<em> little<\/em> overzealous but if it doesn&#8217;t get you in the holiday spirit, then\u00a0I don&#8217;t know what will!<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The first way to health, said the CDC to me: Wash hands to be safe and healthy.&#8221;<\/strong> Crowded gatherings and lots of shopping help contribute to <a title=\"prevent cold and flu\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/09\/top-5-foods-to-prevent-flu-and-cold\/\" target=\"_self\">cold and flu season<\/a>. Wash your hands regularly and properly to keep yourself from getting sick!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The second way to health, said the CDC to me: Bundle up for warmth.&#8221;<\/strong> Young children, elderly adults or anyone with a compromised immune system should stay\u00a0warm by dressing in layers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The third way to health, said the CDC to me: Manage stress.&#8221;<\/strong> For some people, holiday cheer is only a myth.\u00a0You will\u00a0be happier and healthier if you don&#8217;t let stress take over your holidays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The fourth way to health, said the CDC to me: Don&#8217;t drink and drive.&#8221;<\/strong> Festive beverages\u00a0might be fun at a party, but they don&#8217;t mix well with driving.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The fifth way to health, said the CDC to me: BE SMOKE-FREE.&#8221; <\/strong><a title=\"Smoking and Fitness\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/11\/how-smoking-affects-your-workout\/\" target=\"_self\">Smoking<\/a> causes severe health complications. Just don&#8217;t do it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The sixth way to health, said the CDC to me: Fasten belts while driving.&#8221;<\/strong> The holidays mean a lot of travel. Whether you go far or near, please don&#8217;t forget to buckle up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The seventh way to health, said the CDC to me: Get exams and screenings.&#8221;<\/strong> Identify health problems such as cancer, diabetes\u00a0or <a title=\"Heart Disease Risks\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/eight-heart-disease-risks-you-can-control\/\" target=\"_self\">heart disease<\/a> early and you may avoid serious complications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The eighth way to health, said the CDC to me: Get your vaccinations.&#8221; <\/strong>Vaccines help to prevent life-threatening diseases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The ninth way to health, said the CDC to me: Monitor the children.&#8221; <\/strong>The holidays can\u00a0present very dangerous situations for children and pets. Keep\u00a0a watchful\u00a0eye and educate your children about the dangers of\u00a0electrocution, choking hazards and the incorrect use of new toys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The tenth way to health, said the CDC to me: Practice fire safety.&#8221; <\/strong>Candles, cozy fires, Christmas lights and a full kitchen sound great until\u00a0a fire starts.\u00a0Make sure\u00a0all of your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms work properly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The eleventh way to health, said the CDC to me: Prepare dinner safely.&#8221;<\/strong> Learn how to\u00a0handle food properly so that you can <a title=\"FDA's Food Registry\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/fda-website-helps-protect-consumers\/\" target=\"_self\">avoid food-borne illnesses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;The twelfth way to health, said the CDC to me: Eat well and get moving.&#8221;<\/strong> Don&#8217;t be tempted to over-indulge or abandon your fitness routine. There are a lot of fun and festive ways to keep yourself healthy during the holidays!
