Mari comes from a family of five children, and grew up in Gary, Indiana. She studied sports and recreation management at Superior State College, and played collegiate sports on a scholarship. Marci did not struggle with her weight until after she gave birth to her two children. Stress from work and the pain of loser her mother added to weight gain.
