Today\u00a0I am going to take a closer look at the workouts and\u00a0lifestyle of Muhammad Ali.\u00a0I actually had the opportunity to visit with\u00a0him at his home in <\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\">Michigan<\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\"> a few years ago.\u00a0My family is from the same area, which allowed for\u00a0the\u00a0amazing opportunity. He is\u00a0currently suffering from\u00a0Parkinson&#8217;s Syndrome, which is affecting his speech and loco-motor movement (walking).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"Verdana;\">During his prime, he would get up\u00a0during the <\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\">five o&#8217;clock<\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\"> hour to\u00a0do some light stretching before he ran his six miles. After his run, he would get washed up and eat. His\u00a0diet\u00a0consisted of\u00a0all natural foods such as chicken, steak, green beans and other vegetables, potatoes, fruit, <a title=\"fruit juice\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/11\/the-best-and-worst-juices-for-your-kids\/\" target=\"_self\">100% juices<\/a>, and plenty of water. Mr. Ali hit the gym every afternoon for about three hours for training. His training consisted of the following:<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"Verdana;\"><strong>Warm up<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\"> &#8211; 15 Minutes<\/span><span style=\"Verdana;\"><br \/>\n&#8211; side to sides<br \/>\n&#8211; torso swivels<br \/>\n&#8211; jumping around on toes to limber up<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shadow Boxing<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 5 X 3 minute rounds, working on footwork and speed punching<br \/>\n&#8211; 30 second break<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4643\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4643\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4643\" title=\"muhammad-ali-training\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/muhammad-ali-training.jpg\" alt=\"Muhammad Ali woke at 5 a.m. each day to train.\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4643\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Muhammad Ali woke at 5 a.m. each day to train.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Heavy Bag<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 6 X 3 minute rounds, working on combinations and stamina<br \/>\n&#8211; 30 second break<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sparring<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; built up sparring as camp progressed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Floor Exercises<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 15 minutes (300 in total)<br \/>\n&#8211; bicycle crunches<br \/>\n&#8211; sit-ups with medicine ball<br \/>\n&#8211; leg raises<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/www.physicalfitnet.com\/video_syndication\/embed\/js.aspx?chid=325&amp;pid=7CD58ACC584612579209C593BF6B6F47\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speedball<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 9 minutes<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 minute break<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skipping<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 20 minutes<br \/>\n&#8211; Never stopped moving<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shadow Boxing<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; 1 minute, walking around with light shadow boxing<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad\u00a0Ali did not use weights in his workout and it seemed to pay off for him. Genetics are a huge part of what type of\u00a0workout works for you.
