She never leaves home without her running shoes and shorts. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t workout out last week; I was on a business trip. The hotel didn\u2019t have a gym!\u201d I\u2019ve heard it a thousand times from my clients and friends\u2014an excuse to get off track and break the exercise habit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Travel fitness tips\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/06\/4-fitness-tips-for-travel\/\">Travel<\/a><\/strong> is the worst time to skip your workouts, because most likely you are eating out for every meal, consuming way more calories than normal. So I make sure my clients are armed with an easy, quick travel workout that can be done anywhere!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Push-Ups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I consider <strong><a title=\"push-up\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/09\/the-benefits-of-the-classic-push-up\/\">push-ups<\/a><\/strong> the single, best exercise you can do. They work your muscles from head to toe. If they are tough for you, you can modify them by either elevating your hands on a bed, dresser, step, etc. or do the push-up on your knees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wall-sits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wall sits are a great leg workout.  Always make sure your knees are behind your toes to avoid injury to the knees. Challenge yourself to a certain amount of seconds. If you are new at this, try to hold the sit for 30 seconds. If you have strong legs, challenge yourself to a two minute wall-sit. A dip can be modified by bending your legs until you have enough strength to straighten them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cardio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The easiest way to do cardio while on travel is to pack your running shoes and go for a walk or run each day. However, sometimes you just don\u2019t feel safe wandering around a strange place on your own. Here are a few suggestions for exercises you can do right at the hotel\u2014maybe even in your room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jump Rope<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"jump rope\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/the-ultimate-jump-rope-workout\/\">Jump ropes<\/a><\/strong> are cheap and very portable. One will easily fit into the pocket of your suitcase. Don\u2019t worry if you are not very good\u2014all that matters is you are moving your body!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step-ups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find a step, curb or bench. Place on foot on the elevated surface and the other on the ground. Using the power in the elevated leg, push your body up into a knee-up position. Do a few sets on each side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turn those push-ups into Burpees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have you heard of a <strong><a title=\"burpee exercise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/10\/5-new-ways-to-workout-at-home\/\">Burpee<\/a><\/strong>? I can hear the groans, but they are great exercise. See how many you can do!<\/p>\n<p>Finally, treat yourself to a nice stretch after your workout.<\/p>\n<p>If you keep up your<strong> <a title=\"travel fitness\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/top-10-must-have-fitness-items-while-traveling\/\">exercise routine while on travel<\/a><\/strong>, you will have more energy.
