The affected fruit came from Mexico and was brought into the United States via McAllen, Texas. Two samples of the papaya were found to be contaminated with <strong><a title=\"Salmonella\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/tag\/salmonella\/\">salmonella<\/a><\/strong>, one in Mexico and the other in McAllen.<\/p>\n<p>Agromod papayas are sold whole and unprocessed under four brand names: Yaya, Mananita, Tastylicious and Blondie. The distributor announced in a <a title=\"Agromod Produce, Inc. Recalls Papaya Because Of Possible Health Risk\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/Safety\/Recalls\/ucm264854.htm\">press release<\/a> that they are recalling all papayas sold prior to July 23, 2026. Cases of sickness have been reported in California, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Virginia, Washington, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Arizona, Colorado, New Jersey, Ohio, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee each have one reported case.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Consumers who have purchased the Blondie, Yaya, Ma\u00f1anita, and Tastylicious Brand Papayas are urged to return them to the place of purchase.
