The Mississippi town has one of the most overweight populations in the country. Oprah chose this location to kick-off the challenge because of the weight loss challenge their mayor, John Robert Smith, had started. The &#8220;Just Lose It! Meridian&#8221; campaign encouraged 1,000 people in the community to lose 10 pounds each.
