\"\"<\/a>Last night, music\u2019s biggest stars walked the red carpet and filled the hall for the 54th Grammy Awards. It was a night full of big names, questionable wardrobes, and memorable performances.<\/p>\n

Hands down the night belonged to Adele<\/a><\/strong>. The 23-year old singer took home an award for all six categories she was nominated for. She has now tied Beyonce for the most awards won by a female artist in one night. In addition to winning six Grammys, Adele gave a stunning performance of \u201cRolling In The Deep.\u201d This was her first public performance since her risky vocal chord surgery a few months ago. According to critics and the overflow from social media, Adele and her simple gown and simple stage set-up trumped all the light shows and dance routines of the night.<\/p>\n

The show was heavy on performances last night, twice as many performances as awards. Among the performers were Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Glen Campbell, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry<\/a><\/strong>, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj. Some gave great performances, some gave OK performances, and many are still trying to figure out how to label Nicki Minaj\u2019s odd on-stage exorcism.<\/p>\n

It was a huge night for music and a somber one at the same time. The surprise death of vocal superstar Whitney Houston just one day prior to the awards show impacted the attitude of many at the ceremony. Jennifer Hudson<\/a><\/strong> gave a stunning tribute to the star by performing one of Houston\u2019s biggest hits, \u201cI Will Always Love You.\u201d Once more, social media lit up with praise for Hudson\u2019s respectful tribute.<\/p>\n

It was a memorable night full of great music. The show\u2019s influence has impacted iTunes today. The top sales are going to Adele and the late Whitney Houston.<\/p>\n
