Scientific Proof. Fat Loss Facts!<\/a><\/strong>\u201d The book is full of research that points to so many flaws in our current beliefs on dieting and exercise. It&#8217;s research that men and women around the country have been relying on to help them <em>finally <\/em>breakthrough their weight loss; it&#8217;s also been assisting former <strong><a title=\"biggest loser\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/biggest-loser\">Biggest Loser<\/a><\/strong> contestants after they leave the infamous ranch.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-77842\" title=\"smarter science of slim\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/smarter-science-of-slim.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A catchy line throughout the book and the press info regarding the book is \u201ceat more, exercise less.\u201d It isn&#8217;t a catchy marketing line for Bailor to sell a diet pill, a weight loss device, or even a plan, it sums up the science and research he presents in the book.<\/p>\n<p>Bailor explained that the science in his book is &#8220;shockingly different from marketing and <strong><a title=\"diet myths\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/5-diet-myths-debunked\/\">common dieting myths<\/a><\/strong>.&#8221; It shows that the\u00a0key to long-term fat loss and improved health is in the consumption of satisfying, unaggressive, nutritious foods like water-, fiber- and protein-rich non-starchy vegetables, nutrient-dense proteins, and\u00a0<strong><a title=\"healthy fats\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/3-healthy-fats-you-should-be-eating\/\">whole food natural fats<\/a><\/strong>. When we eat this way, he explains that we\u2019re too full for dry, low-fiber, and protein-poor starches and sweets, like bread, candy, cake, soda, and juice.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bailor suggests we\u2019ve missed the mark on exercise, too. We should be working out to heal our metabolisms, not trying to burn off the bad calories we\u2019ve eaten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScience has proven that the way we exercise to heal our metabolism is quite\u00a0different than the way we exercise to burn calories. We need to <strong><a title=\"resistance training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/01\/a-beginners-guide-to-resistance-training\/\">safely use more resistance<\/a><\/strong>,&#8221; explained Bailor. &#8220;But the\u00a0more resistance we use, the less exercise we can do. For example, we can\u2019t lift 20 pounds as many times as\u00a0we can lift two pounds. The higher the quality of our exercise the more we heal our metabolism, the better our\u00a0long-term results, and the less of it we can do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bailor has built a relationship with <strong><a title=\"jay and jennifer jacobs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/videos\/interview-with-jay-and-jennifer-jacobs\/\">Jay and Jennifer Jacobs<\/a><\/strong>, a father-daughter team from NBC\u2019s Biggest Loser season 11. As many contestants have, they struggled to keep weight from creeping back on after the show. <strong><a title=\"biggest loser jay jacobs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/jay-jacobs\">Jay Jacobs<\/a><\/strong> explained how he eventually gained back nearly 50 pounds and was drawn to Bailor\u2019s research and philosophy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy I was drawn to <em>Smarter Science of Slim (SSOS)<\/em> was the fact that it seemed that after such massive weight loss I couldn&#8217;t seem to as easily get into a mode where I could drop weight as quickly as I did on the show, and that&#8217;s where I was confused,&#8221; he told us. &#8220;Part of it is because we&#8217;ve been told that when you&#8217;ve been a yo-yo dieter as long as I had been, and then after dropping 181 pounds in only eight months, my body was still in a state of shock and healing.
