The challenging part is getting over the hump of doubt, impatience, and discouragement.<\/p>\n<p>The following are a few tips that will help you set your mind to your goals so you may find success in making your healthy intentions a reality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Create a mantra<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A mantra is a word or group of words used to sharpen your focus during meditation. Although you might not actually be meditating when you repeat your mantra, it will still have an effect on your mind.<\/p>\n<p>When you <strong><a title=\"create a mantra\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/12\/create-a-mantra-to-keep-focused\/\">create a personal mantra<\/a><\/strong>, choose words that support your intention, such as \u201cI have energy,\u201d or \u201cI love yoga.\u201d Your mind will soon start believing whatever it is you are telling yourself, so choose your words wisely.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Forget your excuses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do your best and let go of the reasons why you\u2019ve failed to maintain your fitness program in the past. It doesn\u2019t matter anymore because in the New Year those same excuses will no longer apply. Instead, fill your mind with <strong><a title=\"reasons to exercise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/11\/bob-greenes-7-reasons-not-to-exercise-and-why-you-should-ignore-them\/\">reasons why you exercise<\/a><\/strong> instead of reasons why you do not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accept change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the reasons why many <strong><a title=\"New Year's resolutions \" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/how-to-maintain-your-new-years-resolutions\/\">New Year\u2019s resolutions<\/a><\/strong> don\u2019t stick is because people usually find more comfort in slipping back into their old habits. It is indeed challenging to break out of your comfort zone, but you must be willing to accept the awkwardness of change in order to be successful. When you understand that change is an inevitable part of life, accepting it becomes a little easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hit the reset button\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Too many people try way too hard in the first few weeks of January only to find themselves burned out, bored, or discouraged by their lack of progress. Giving up is not what you intended to do, so get back out there and start again.
