One such new-to-me face is Brittany Barr of <strong><a title=\"barr and table\" href=\"http:\/\/barrandtable.wordpress.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Barr and Table<\/a><\/strong>, who just happens to be an amazingly talented recipe developer with a healthy dose of personality and passion for fitness. I found myself scouring her recipes page and was hooked right away!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/food-blogger-spotlight-brittani-barr-of-barr-and-table\/brittani-barr\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-87173\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-87173\" title=\"brittani barr\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/brittani-barr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/brittani-barr.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/brittani-barr-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you visit Barr and Table expect to find healthy, creative recipes for breakfast, post-workout snacks, and filling, simple week-night meals. We recently spoke with Brittany about her blog and her approach to health and fitness. Here&#8217;s what she had to say.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did you start your food blog?<br \/>\n<\/strong>After being introduced to a new, healthier lifestyle, I began experimenting with different cooking styles,\u00a0ingredients, and alternative recipes and found a love and passion for food and cooking. While I\u2019ve\u00a0always loved and appreciated a well-executed dish, I now found myself wanting to recreate this dishes;\u00a0some in a healthier way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe your approach to eating\/health?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I fully believe in the<strong> <a title=\"80 20 rule\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/08\/guest-blog-the-8020-rule-for-dieters\/\">80\/20 rule<\/a><\/strong>. I do my best to eat clean 80% of the time and when I want to have a\u00a0treat, I fit that into the 20%. I\u2019ve come to really love fruit for dessert and have found recipes that taste\u00a0decadent but are totally clean. It\u2019s all about balance and I don\u2019t feel like I miss out on anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you always had an interest in healthy food or did it come later in life?<br \/>\n<\/strong>My interest in healthy food definitely came later in life. As a kid, I ate my vegetables but you better\u00a0believe I loved what all kids love: mac and cheese, pizza, peanut butter, <strong><a title=\"brownies\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/recipes\/black-bean-brownies\/\">brownies<\/a><\/strong>, etc. Now I love Brussels sprouts, squash, apples, and peanut butter!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your favorite (or a few of your favorites) food\/ingredient to use in the kitchen?<br \/>\n<a title=\"coconut oil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/coconut-oil\">Coconut oil<\/a><\/strong> is one of my new favorite ingredients to use. I love to use it to roast vegetables, cook my\u00a0sweet breakfast scrambles, and use it in recipes like my <strong><a title=\"peanut butter power balls\" href=\"http:\/\/barrandtable.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/25\/foodie-friday-white-chocolate-wonderful-peanut-butter-powerballs\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">powerballs<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s so versatile!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Has blogging changed the way you view food and cooking? If so, how?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Without a doubt! When I started my blog less than a year ago, I really wanted to find recipes and figure\u00a0out ways to make them healthier. Now I find myself looking at recipes and suddenly five different ideas\u00a0pop into my head for meals I can make. It has also pushed me to learn more about nutrition, which I\u00a0love.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite recipe to date?<br \/>\n<\/strong>This is a tough one! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I\u2019ve been absolutely loving my slimmed\u00a0down <strong><a title=\"sweet breakfast scramble\" href=\"http:\/\/barrandtable.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/09\/what-i-ate-wednesday-29-back-in-the-swing-of-things\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">sweet breakfast scramble<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s a recipe that I adapted from Tina of\u00a0<strong><a title=\"carrots n cake\" href=\"http:\/\/carrotsncake.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Carrots \u2018N\u2019 Cake<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and I can\u2019t stop\u00a0eating it!
