Summer is an ideal time to get into this sort of family routine.\u00a0 The weather is perfect for outside activity.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Getting some exercise as a family is easy at local state parks.\u00a0 Hiking trails abound, and many of them are stroller-friendly.\u00a0 As an avid babywearer myself, we started hiking last year when my son was still a newborn.\u00a0 Be prepared to go slowly yourself to accommodate little ones&#8217; short legs and constant distraction by scenery.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"mari holden cycling\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/05\/top-five-benefits-of-cycling-by-mari-holden\/\" target=\"_self\">Biking<\/a> is another great way to get the family moving.\u00a0 Put one adult in front of the pack, another at the rear, and any kiddos who can pedal themselves in the middle.\u00a0 Some people prefer bike seats, others prefer bike trailers.\u00a0 Head to a neighborhood playground or just take a spin around the block.<\/p>\n<p>If all else fails, hit the pool!\u00a0 Kids never get tired of going to the pool, and it&#8217;s a sure-fire way to wear them out.\u00a0 Take turns watching them when it&#8217;s adult swim; the adult who&#8217;s not in charge can swim laps.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve done that ourselves, and the kids have a great time trotting up and down the length of the pool, cheering us on.\u00a0 Just remember to bring <a title=\"healthy snacks\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/tag\/healthy-snacks\/\" target=\"_self\">snacks<\/a> from home so that no one is tempted by the vending machines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><em><strong>Guest Blog Series:<\/strong> Look for the following badge on your favorite health sites to see if they have been a featured guest blogger on <\/em><a title=\"diet reviews\" onclick=\"pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outbound\/article\/');\" href=\"..\/..\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>DietsInReview.com<\/em><\/a><em>.
