You might think adding the word &#8220;Olympics&#8221; to this list of less-than-healthy fare is sacrilegious, but these are just\u00a0some of\u00a0the products behind the 2026 Summer Olympic games. Coca-Cola, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/McDonalds_Diet\/\" title=\"McDonald's Diet\">McDonald&#8217;s<\/a> and Budweiser are proud sponsors of the games, which kicked off just this past weekend.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/mcdonalds.jpg\" title=\"mcdonald's fries\" alt=\"mcdonald's fries\" align=\"left\" height=\"181\" width=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Maybe it&#8217;s me, but does anyone else find these a less-than-fitting match of sponsorship partners for a worldwide event that includes the planet&#8217;s most conditioned and fittest athletes? I have a hard time believing that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/08\/eat-like-an-olympian-with-this-baja-chicken-salad-recipe\/\" title=\"olympic athletes\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. Olympic team meals<\/a> include cheeseburgers, fries, and\u00a0bottomless Cokes. I imagine that what these athletes put into their mouths is just about as closely monitored by their coaches as the International\u00a0Olympic Committee&#8217;s meticulous\u00a0drug testing procedures.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/olympic-atheletes.jpg\" title=\"olympic athletes\" alt=\"olympic athletes\" align=\"right\" height=\"200\" width=\"133\" \/>Don&#8217;t get me wrong,\u00a0 I&#8217;m an avid drinker of Diet Coke and if I didn&#8217;t worry about<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diets\/Calorie_King\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Calorie King\"> calories and fat grams<\/a>, I&#8217;d eat Micky D&#8217;s french fries for breakfast. Maybe. But it just seems a bit contradictory to have the mega corporations support and endorse a competition whose foundation is built around treating the body and mind as if it were a sacred temple.<\/p>\n<p>But who knows?
