This week, Liesl Maggiore from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lieslicious.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Lieslicious<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0made my job easy.<\/p>\n<p>Lieslicious is not cluttered or fussy. The header is a close-up picture of a paper towel, for heaven&#8217;s sake, but once you dig in, you realize that Liesl approached her website creation the same way she approaches food &#8211; clean, simplistic and lovely.<\/p>\n<p>We asked this wife, mama, animal-enthusiast and self-described, &#8220;booty-shaker,&#8221; a few questions about her blog, and she was kind enough to share.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did you start your food blog?<\/strong>\u00a0Working as a food stylist, I have been exposed to amazing recipes and surrounded by inspiring, creative people for years. I guess they rubbed off on me and I realized I have my own stories to tell through food. I wanted to share the foods I was making every night in my own home, and hopefully inspire other families to get cooking!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe your approach to eating\/health?\u00a0<\/strong>I believe that cooking your own meals for yourself and your family is the key element to healthy eating. It\u2019s the best way to be aware of what\u2019s in your food and what you are putting in your body. I like to keep ingredients fresh, seasonal, simple and avoid processed foods as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you always had an interest in healthy food or did it come later in life?\u00a0<\/strong>My parents are both fantastic cooks and have always been health conscious, so I think their message has been ingrained in me since the early days. I definitely went AWOL for awhile when I was younger and ate my fair share of junk, but thankfully I came back around to what I learned when I was a kid. I talk a lot about nutrition and healthy eating choices with my own children. They are so fun to teach and eager to learn. It\u2019s amazing what they remember and retain. They are completely anti-fast food and very vocal about it to their friends, teachers and other parents!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are a few of your favorite ingredients to use in the kitchen?<\/strong>\u00a0Tons of fresh herbs, lemon zest, Cholula, and Greek yogurt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Has blogging changed the way you view food and cooking? If so, how?<\/strong>\u00a0Blogging has been a great way to connect with people from all over. It\u2019s so exciting to get feedback and know people are really out there trying your recipes. I love the interactive and communal sense that the internet brings to food and cooking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite recipe to date:<\/strong>\u00a0My <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lieslicious.com\/2012\/06\/banana-nut-pancakes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Banana Nut Pancakes<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; they are made with almond flour, ground walnuts and sweetened only with bananas. They sound too healthy to be good, but they are seriously delicious and packed with protein!
