We\u2019re hiring an enthusiastic, energetic, and focused assistant senior editor<\/strong> to edit, write, produce, and manage content across our suite of three sites, primarily on DietsInReview.com. This is an immediate opening. This individual has extensive experience with online and digital publishing, is as passionate about health and wellness as we are<\/a><\/strong>, is quick on their feet, handles pressure like it ain\u2019t no thang, doesn\u2019t need their hand held, and is able to work with a team of equally witted writers.<\/p>\n

The assistant editor will oversee and\/or produce two to four pieces of content daily on the DietsInReview.com blog<\/a><\/strong>, in addition to weekly blog posts on our other sites, weekly content agreements with publishing partners, and other content as may arise. All of this is supported through social media, a key part of your daily duties. Must be nimble enough to react to and stay on top of (and preferably in front of) news and trends. Expertise for publishing to SEO best practices is a must, as is crafting headlines and content that perform extremely well on social channels.<\/p>\n

This is a remote working environment and you\u2019ll have 20-30 hours of \u201cduring business hours\u201d work time each week. You\u2019ll report directly to the managing editor<\/a><\/strong>, while managing a small team<\/a><\/strong> and maintaining all day-to-day business on the sites.<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Background in English, journalism, communications, and\/or marketing<\/p>\n

Obsessed with detail<\/p>\n

Excellent writing, research, and proofreading skills<\/p>\n

Consider yourself one of those social media gurus, whizzes, experts<\/p>\n

Remarkably capable of working independent of a centralized team while managing a small remote team, and comfortable collaborating with the managing editor<\/p>\n

Immediate start date; Availability 20-30 weekday business hours per week<\/p>\n

Highly proficient with WordPress and digital\/web publishing best practices<\/p>\n

A passion and enthusiasm for health, fitness, and wellness; experience publishing in this area will be very well received<\/p>\n

Have some or all of our bonus skills: familiarity with even basic HTML, photography, Photoshop\/photo editing, video editing<\/p>\n
