He engaged in \u00a0a three month experiment much like Spurlock&#8217;s, <strong><a title=\"mcdonalds dollar menu\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/09\/mcdonalds-new-dollar-menu-now-with-even-more-dollars\/\">eating McDonald&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> every day, but instead of indulging and not exercising, he followed a more structured program which he discussed on <em>TODAY<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><object id=\"msnbc8e49c3\" width=\"592\" height=\"346\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"FlashVars\" value=\"launch=53992418^0^301602&amp;width=592&amp;height=346\" \/><param name=\"allowScriptAccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/32545640\" \/><param name=\"flashvars\" value=\"launch=53992418^0^301602&amp;width=592&amp;height=346\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"pluginspage\" value=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/shockwave\/download\/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash\" \/><embed id=\"msnbc8e49c3\" width=\"592\" height=\"346\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/32545640\" FlashVars=\"launch=53992418^0^301602&amp;width=592&amp;height=346\" allowScriptAccess=\"always\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" wmode=\"transparent\" flashvars=\"launch=53992418^0^301602&amp;width=592&amp;height=346\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" pluginspage=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/shockwave\/download\/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cisna&#8217;s students put the menus together which included nearly everything on the McDonald&#8217;s menu from salads to <strong><a title=\"sugar and salt\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/sugar-and-salt-the-battle-to-see-which-kills-more-of-us\/\">Big Macs to sundaes<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>His students tracked his caloric intake and 15 different nutrients<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/li>\n<li>Cisna walked 45 minutes a day for three months during the experiment.<\/li>\n<li>Cisna stuck to a 2,000 calorie per day diet and stayed within recommended daily limits for carbohydrates, sugar, protein, and fat.<\/li>\n<li>He lost 37 pounds during the experiment, and his <strong><a title=\"lower cholesterol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/08\/top-5-foods-to-lower-cholesterol\/\">cholesterol levels decreased<\/a><\/strong> from 249 to 170.<\/li>\n<li>His salt intake was more than twice the daily recommendation.<\/li>\n<li>He&#8217;s now in the second phase of the experiment which ends March 15. Cisna is following the same caloric and nutrient restrictions, but changing up his exercise routine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have to agree with TODAY show correspondent and registered dietitian Joy Bauer when she said, &#8220;It&#8217;s not where you eat, it&#8217;s what you eat.
