Golf originated in Scotland in the 12th century and has been very popular ever since.\u00a0I strongly believe that golf is a game of mental toughness, natural ability or skill, and a little bit of luck. I play once or twice a year\u00a0so\u00a0I am definitely no expert, but I have trained my share of golfers and have\u00a0had great success with them.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Below is a workout routine that will help enhance your golf game and will help you\u00a0drive the ball further than you ever have.\u00a0The workout\u00a0focuses on\u00a0the major muscle groups that play a key role in the golf\u00a0swing.\u00a0These\u00a0muscle groups consist of the\u00a0<a title=\"core training\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/top-10-core-exercises\/\" target=\"_self\">core<\/a>, <a title=\"hamstring exercises\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/top-5-hamstring-exercises\/\" target=\"_self\">hamstrings<\/a> and <a title=\"quad exercises\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/07\/top-5-quad-exercises\/\" target=\"_self\">quads<\/a>, upper back, <a title=\"shoulder exercises\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/06\/top-5-shoulder-exercises\/\" target=\"_self\">shoulders<\/a>, and the\u00a0forearms.<\/p>\n<p>The core is used for strength and power while the quads and hamstrings are\u00a0used to maintain good posture and prevent lower back and knee injuries. The upper back, shoulders, and forearms are\u00a0used\u00a0for spine\u00a0and club control. I recommend performing two or three\u00a0sets of 20 repetitions to increase muscular strength as well as endurance.
