I play in a weekly winter league with 5 of my friends. Our team name is &#8220;The Thunderballs&#8221;, and what we lack in skill we more than make up for with laughs and good conversation. This past week I was running late and didn&#8217;t have time to eat dinner before arriving at the alley. I scanned the menu for something healthy and, finding nothing, ordered chicken tenders with a side of tater tots. My teammates arrived, and one by one, more orders of tots appeared on the table. Without meaning to, our team of 6 wound up with at least 4 big plates of the deep fried potato poppers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/tater-tots-e1391371163852.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-95437\" alt=\"tater tots\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/tater-tots-e1391371163852.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It turns out greasy hands\u2014and slippery bowling balls\u2014is just one hazard of this type of meal: Tater tots have 160 calories per 9-piece order, and each plate came with 50 or so tots. I would gauge my consumption at around 30 tots, or 533 calories. And that&#8217;s not including the dipping sauces, which included ketchup and <strong><a title=\"Recipe for ranch dressing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/recipes\/ranch-dressing-mix\/\">ranch dressing<\/a><\/strong> that evening.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So, exactly how could I burn of the 533 calories in an order of tater tots?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I could bowl for 150 minutes, or 2.5 hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/bowling-e1391371337525.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-95438\" alt=\"bowling\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/bowling-e1391371337525.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I could <strong><a title=\"top fat-burning workouts\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/top-5-fat-burning-exercises\/\">run stairs<\/a><\/strong> for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em id=\"__mceDel\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/stairs-e1391371131554.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-95439 aligncenter\" alt=\"stairs\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/stairs-e1391371131554.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"451\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I could play a game of<strong> <a title=\"Kids games that count as exercise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/top-5-fat-burning-exercises\/\">dodgeball<\/a><\/strong> for 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em id=\"__mceDel\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/dodgeball-e1391370735756.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-95440 aligncenter\" alt=\"dodgeball\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/dodgeball-e1391370735756.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As luck would have it, that night&#8217;s bowling session ran long so I was there for a full 2.5 hours.
