This substance has been banned across the globe, but it&#8217;s still allowed in the U.S. and found in almost every <strong><a title=\"Fast food dangers\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/05\/fast-food-changes-mood-and-behavior\/\">fast food<\/a> <\/strong>chain baked goods including <strong><a title=\"starbucks healthy options\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/03\/healthiest-menu-choices-at-starbucks\/%20\">Starbucks<\/a><\/strong>, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, and Wendy&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/subway-ditched-toxic-chemical-found-in-yoga-mats-still-widely-usedthough\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-95917\" alt=\"subway\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/subway-e1392739759557.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Azodicarbonamide is known to induce asthma, other respiratory symptoms, and skin sensitization in exposed workers and consumers. It is intended as a dough conditioner, but when baked can create the known carcinogen urethane.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Subway taking action is a step in the right direction, and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Health\/sen-schumer-calls-ban-yoga-mat-chemical\/story?id=22448861\" target=\"_blank\">ABC News reports<\/a><\/strong> NY Senator Chuck Schumer plans to take it a step further as he pushes the Food and Drug Administration to ban the chemical altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Lesson learned?
