She contends that is not how she nor the brand see their consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Kirstie shared her response with DietsInReview.com in a phone interview about the renewed partnership. She continued by explaining that she&#8217;s always been self-deprecating about her weight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That comment was relating to me, about me,&#8221; she told us, going on to say that in <strong><a title=\"kirstie alley quit jenny craig\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/02\/call-1-800-kirstie\/\">her previous stint with Jenny Craig<\/a><\/strong>, which she resigned just more than six years ago, she said &#8220;Hey! I&#8217;m fat!&#8221; at a time when using the word fat was taboo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"kirstie alley jenny craig\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/04\/thats-how-i-see-me-kirstie-alley-responds-to-circus-fat-comment-in-jenny-craig-ad\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-97322\" alt=\"kirstie alley\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/kirstie-alley.jpg\" width=\"301\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/kirstie-alley.jpg 301w, https:\/\/dietsinreview.com\/diet_column\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/kirstie-alley-161x300.jpg 161w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/><\/a>&#8220;I grew up [in Kansas] in a generation of not overweight people&#8230;I grew up in an era where my dad took me to the Kansas State Fair or the cirucs &#8212; they had actual fat ladies in the circus.&#8221; She recalled there being only three overweight students in her entire school in Wichita, Kansas, two of whom were her friends.
