Find the Fun in Fitness
You might blame skipping your run, yoga class, or kickboxing class on 1) the weather, 2) a headache, 3) the traffic, or 4) doing your hair, but if you really dig deep you might find that all of those excuses are just covering the fact that you really just don't want to do it. It's OK to admit to it, in fact, it's beneficial if you do.
Fitness shouldn't be one more chore on your endless to-do list, it should be an escape from everything that controls your time. That's why it's so important to find the fun in fitness!
If you don't like running, don't do it. If you can't stand doing a workout DVD, then don't do it. The point is, there are as many ways to live an active life as there are ways to not. You have to find something you love doing, and when you do, you'll start making excuses to skip all the other stuff just so you can swim, hike, dance, play tennis, or spin.
You don't have to belong to a gym to become a runner, a swimmer, a yogi, a hiker, a dancer, or even a cyclist. All of these activities, and so many more, are available to you in a number of ways. If you do pay for that gym membership, get more out of it by experiencing a new kind of class like spinning, weight training, Zumba, Pilates or a boot camp.
We share a few ideas here for you to explore a new way to get fit. Most importantly, a fun way to get fit.
