SheKnows Announces Lorcaserin Release with DIR Experts

The first diet pill to receive FDA approval in 13 years was big news this week. Along with DietsInReview.com's early coverage, SheKnows.com announced the Lorcaserin (aka Belviq) approval. They broke the news by including commentary from DietsInReview.com's resident experts Mary Hartley, RD and pharmacist Dr. Sarah G. Khan.

Neither of our experts are sold on the pill's weight loss claims. Hartley noted that the mere 5.8 percent weight loss patients may experience isn't really a big deal. And Khan said, "The FDA's initial rejection of both Qnexa and Belviq shows that they had the right idea the first time."
