Great Job Coleen!! You look beautiful as always!! I am Proud of you!
im a 43 yr old female with alot of health and physical problems, do you think the producers would allow someone with physical limitations such as cant lift more than 10 lbs on the show?
i have to admit this will actually be the 1st full season of BL i will be watching from beginning to end. i started watching last season maybe midway through right before your dad left and i have to say you both truthfully inspired me.
last year, after years of thinking there was something wrong, i was “diagnosed” with moderate to severe depression and was put on anti depressants, before i started taking them i never really cared to watch BL but i saw a promo with them in it and said ill give it a try and fell in love with the show.
im what you would probably say is morbidly obese. im 5′ and last i was weighed it was 239 lbs.
the ailments i have are asthma, high blood pressure, premature ventricular contractions, severe nerve damage in back arms and legs, spinal bifida occulta, partial hip due to bone graft, curvature of the spine, and a 5 inch leg difference from osteomylitis i had as a child for which i have to wear a corrective shoe.
the only exercise my doctor prescribed for me is warm water therapy but the closest warm water pool is about 40 miles away, no car and limited finances.
if it wasnt for the depression meds, i would probably still be in that mind set and watching BL has made me realize that if i could lose some of this weight i could probably get off of some of these meds.
i know i sould be somewhere between 95 and 123 lbs but personally thats too skinny, i would be happy to see 150 again.
as far as eating, some might say im almost starving myself. most days i just have toast and a cheese sandwich or 2. it hurts most times for me to stand there and cook so the only time i do any major cooking is when my fiance is home( hes a truck driver and gone for weeks at a time) i snack but not much really, i try to have salad makings in the fridge or some type of cheese. as far as veggies go, yuk!! only cooked veggie i eat is corn and it has to be whole kernel or on the cob. i do like carrots celery cauliflower and cucumbers but not cooked. and i dont do fish or any type of seafood.
im sorry, ive rambled on too long, ill sign off now.
i understand if you dont want to or cant help but would appreciate it if you would at least think about me.
I have several questions: what is your motivation to stay with it? How do you get through the hard days when all you want to do is just veg out on the couch? What is your biggest temptation, and how do you resist it? Do you have any buddy systems, and how did you get started? Do you exercise at home, in a gym or both?
Thank you in advance for answering any of my questions, and I may come up with some later 🙂
You look so great Coleen! It looks like you a quit a few questions to answer, so I will just ask a couple for now;-) I have applied for the next biggest loser, and I so hope they pick me! So my questions are, when did you get a call from them that you were going to be on the show and when did you leave to go to CA? I hope your Dad is still doing well, you both were amazing and such an inspiration! Thank you so much!
When is the BL coming to Canada?
How do you stay motivated? I keep thinking to myself to keep my head in the game. I find my self sometimes to lose my self to either eating to much, BLT’s (nites, licks, and tastes), or sont feel like working out.
Thanks Coleen!
Hey Coleen! Now that you are home and have lost so much; How long do you exercise now?
Thanks!
Thanks so much for doing these videos Coleen, you are looking GREAT! Wow. You and your Dad are such an inspiration. My question is when you ‘focus forward’ now that you have reached your goals, what do you focus on? What’s your inspiration to push that much harder?
Thanks again, you rock Coleen !
Hey Coleen,
There are a lot of different theories out there about whether cardio is a better form of workout than weight training. Which, did you find, is more effective in weight loss? How do you incorporate both of these into your own workouts?
Thanks!
Evy
Hey Coleen. You look AWESOME…. I thought you were pretty even when you first went to the ranch. Now, you’re just plain “HOt”. LOL! I started working out again and eating much better on the 1st. Have lost 10 lbs. so far, but feel like I’m not gettting as much out of all the changes I’ve made. I need some help with a workout plan. Lay it out in front of me and say “Do This”. The food isn’t so hard for me, though I’m sure it could be tweeked. No Personal Trainers in this small town. Would like to have one for just a couple of workouts to get me on a program. Any Advice? thanks…God Bless
Hi, I am curious how much time you spent working out while you were competing on the show, how much time you spend now and if you are not at your goal yet, how much time you think you will spend working out then? I’m curious as I’ve been told that anything over 90 minutes can potentially cause muscle breakdown rather than growth. Thanks.
Hey coleen you look great. I have a few questions for you I applied for the biggest loser and I was wondering how long it took you to hear anything back from them. It has been my dream since BL 1 to be on the show but i finally applied. I made my video really funny and exciting I really think they will like it but I wasn’t sure what to put in it. I am so depressed about my weight I can’t even stand it I want to cry everyday. Help me find some motivation or something to help me loss weight. PLEASE. Thanks again for all your help.
Hi,
I have a questions when you were at the ranch did you us a treadmill, gazelle edger, and hand weights .How long or how mineing min’s did you have to workout to burn 3500 CAL’S in a day or at the end of the week wiegh in ? i would to say im on sparkpoeple . com team and we are trying the biggest loser challenge to april.09 if you have time can you give us a little help .some are in good health can walk 6 min’s and some of us have lower back pain we can do 3 min’s. you are doing a great job loseing and helping other to want to lose thank you so much .
Hey Coleen,
Most of all I want to tell you congratulations on your weight loss success! I’m almost 23 and for the first time in my life something really sparked in me to start working out. I’ve been wanting to do it every day so far for the last week and a half. I’ve lost 11lbs so far and very excited about it. I’ve cut my calories down to less than 1500 a day where in the past I’d eat three double cheeseburgers from McDonalds in one sitting. I am so embarassed and ashamed to admit that, but knowing that is not who I am anymore, I just don’t care. I’m on the road to weight loss sucess and am looking forward to being skinny for the first time in my life.
I’m really struggling with meals for breakfast and dinner though. I eat the same thing every single day and am getting to the point that I can’t really enjoy my meals. I love meat such as steak and ground beef and just can’t seem stuff like that into my meal plan. Do you have any suggestions on what I can eat that is GOOD and healthy so that I can enjoy my food again? Please let me know.
Also, I am a huge fan of yours and YOU are my inspiration. Is it possible to get an autographed picture sent to my house? Please write me back at my email.
Thank you and god bless you!
Hi Colleen,
In you video about the Body Bugg you mentioned your weight loss goals. Just wondered what those goals were, since you look pretty tiny now? 🙂
Thanks and best wishes.
