The recipes are not only grouped by meal (breakfast, lunch, snacks and treats, dinner), but also kid-oriented categories like “Picky Eater,” “Adventurous Eater” and “Kids Can Cook,” which features recipes that kids can make themselves or with a little help. Each recipe includes detailed nutrition facts. There’s also a separate “Produce Info” feature that has tips and facts about all manner of fruits and vegetables.
If you feel like handing your iPad over to your child, there are also two nutrition-based games. We particularly enjoyed “Space Picnic,” which teaches kids about balanced meals and tests their knowledge of the food pyramid.
The “learn” feature holds a collection of articles on eating strategies for healthy and happy families. There’s advice on nutrition for tweens and teens, tips for feeding preschoolers and healthy snacks.
