ExerciseTV celebrity trainer and New Balance Fitness Ambassador Holly Perkins has created a complete fitness program in a single dvd. Fitness 360 provides cardio, toning, and yoga routines that can be done in 20 minutes or less. The free workout plan and meal guidelines available online, including a shopping guide, make this a full program.
Cardio 360 and Total Tone 360 both last 20 minutes, while Yoga Energizer 360 lasts for 10 minutes. While it got my heart rate up and engaged my muscles, I was able to complete all three at one time. Although completing the workouts was not difficult for me, I was pretty sore for the next couple of days, proving just how beneficial Fitness 360 can be. I will be following Holly’s plan more closely from this point.
The short segments will enable you to fit in a solid workout on any day; however, I do not suggest that you do this when starting out with Fitness 360. The Fitness 360 plan calls for a day off every seven days, and incrementally adding the Yoga Energizer 360 workout following the other two. Fitness 360 can be a great fit for someone who does not have a lot of time or someone who wants to be able to extend their workouts.
The food section creates an easily understandable plan, although it might be difficult to stick to entirely long term. Three tables are presented listing idea and acceptable choices for proteins, fat, and carbohydrates. To follow the diet plan, one simply needs to choose 3 from each table for meals or one from each table for snacks. Suggestions for meals and snacks are also included, as well as a shopping list with some of Holly’s favorite brands. Fruits and vegetables are built into the carbohydrates table. Rice is the most traditional “carb” included, and there are not bread products.
The instructor is crucial to one’s enjoyment of any workout dvd or fitness class. While Holly seems happy, energized, and excited, she does not cross into the dangerous land of “perky” which could ruin the program for those who schedule their workouts for first thing in the morning. She does a good job of explaining technique without making it overly complicated. My brief interactions with her about this dvd make me believe that Holly’s onscreen persona is very accurate, and she truly is very likable.
Fitness 360 presents a total workout and healthy eating program. With a low price point and a schedule that is easy to integrate for most people, Fitness 360 can be an excellent choice for many people. It does seem to be somewhat target towards women, but I imagine many working mothers will find Fitness 360 enjoyable, effective, and convenient.
