Georgia, known as the peach state, got its nickname and reputation for growing the highest quality fruit. The peach became the official state fruit in 1995. Best Places to Run in Atlanta
- Peidmont Park: Atlanta’s best known and second largest park (185 acres). Located in the heart of Atlanta, over two million people visit Peidmont Park each year. The three-mile jogging trail is full of special attractions and spectacular nature views.
- Freedom Path: Atlanta’s largest park (207 acres). Located just a few miles away from Peidmont Park, this roughly two-mile path is home to several gardens and meadows, waterfalls, and two small lakes. Very peaceful and nature at it’s best!
- Stone Mountain: Located in East Atlanta and home to laser shows, train rides, hiking, petting zoo, golf course, and a short jogging trail. Definitely a tourist attraction and a must do if you have not done so!
