The holiday season is almost here. I know it’s hard to think about or even believe but soon you’ll be humming the reindeer song and thinking about the best dessert to bring to Aunt Mary’s soiree. Turn the tide this holiday season and come out on the losing end with these easy-to-follow tips.
1. Use your Wii
Wii Fit isn’t just for the kiddies, you can take advantage of all those great games, spend time with your family and work up a sweat at the same time.
2. Unexpected weights
Take your hand weights and put them in places you frequent; a shelf in the fridge, on the bathroom sink, in the laundry room. In between loads, morning rituals and trips to the kitchen use the weights to get in some reps.
3. Time for yourself
Create a reward schedule for meeting your fitness goals. Schedule a pedicure, buy new clothes or choose another great gift for yourself. One rule: No food rewards.
4. Go shopping
Look for cute, sexy workout clothes. When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you will work wonders.
5. Take a hike
Seriously, gather your family, friends or co-workers and start walking or hiking. Do it at lunch or before or after work. Why not start a walking club and do it as a group?
6. Get more shut-eye
You need at least six hours of sleep per night. Running on empty causes you to stress and your body to store fat instead of burn it, not to mention making you a total crank. Get some rest and breeze through the holidays.
7. Stress Less
Stress is here to stay, so learn ways to deal with it. Some stress is good, but continued, over-the-top stress, like what you get during the holidays helps no one. Repeat tips one through six to help you control your stress levels.
