Maruchy Lachance is president of Running Ninja!, a lifestyle brand for runners by runners. Running Ninja! offers a wide variety of apparel and gifts for runners to keep you happy and inspired while you’re on the run.
I’m not a natural born athlete. So the only way I was finally able to adopt a healthy lifestyle was by simplifying and taking the mystery out of dieting and exercise. This is why I took up running because all it required was a pair of shoes. I also adopted a simple diet that only required that I count calories. I am not the only person to have decided that I would make living a healthy lifestyle easy and inexpensive. Check out some of the creative ways that can help you with your commitment to a healthy lifestyle:
- Weight loss does not have to be difficult or expensive. A lot of employers are now providing weight loss systems for their employees right at work, while some insurance companies are reimbursing their clients for joining weight loss programs. Take advantage these inexpensive ways to lose weight or to change your eating habits so they are healthier and more efficient.
- Weight training does not have to happen at a gym and it does not require traditional weights. A pint weighs just over a pound while a gallon is the equivalence of just over eight pounds. Using water in a plastic container with the appropriate weight can provide you a cheap and effective weight for toning your body.
- Adopting a proactive mindset is the key to any successful endeavor. Ignore and abandon those ideas that your health and fitness are just about body image. If you focus on the health and not just the appearance of your body you will embrace a healthier method to losing or maintaining your body weight and fitness.
You only have this one body, and it is the only thing that is and always will be with you. Take the time to care for it. Give it the right fuel and take it out for a ride and do not forget to have fun while doing it.
