Music and exercise go great together. So, maybe it shouldn’t come as a surprise that someone came up with the idea of actually marrying the two in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.
Sony and its Sony W Series Walkman® MP3 Player are sponsoring the marathons, which take place over the next few months (see below).
Beginning June 6th in San Diego, the tour is going to make it to 14 U.S. cities.
There will be local bands playing at every mile along the race course. And, the weekend of each event kicks off with a two-day health and fitness expo, and ends with a finish line festival where participants and their friends and family can celebrate at a headliner concert. Examples of headliners include ’90s swing band The Big Bad Voodoo Daddies in San Diego, and in Seattle there will be alt-rockers Tonic.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is being organized by The Competitor Group, an “endurance media and event entertainment company” headquartered in San Diego, California that promotes running, cycling and triathlons.
