What Jillian Michaels Eats: 6 Recipes from Biggest Loser’s Star Trainer

Whether it’s her attitude, her sexy petite frame, her adorable new kids, or no-nonsense fitness philosophy, everyone’s got at least one thing for Jillian Michaels. And now, her biggest fans will get to spend two hours with her every Monday night as she returns to Biggest Loser for the show’s fourteenth season in tonight’s special two-hour premiere.

We’ll see her work with the 18 new contestants (including three teens) in the gym and on what they eat. So it’s natural to wonder – what does this world-renowned fitness expert eat? Through her Jillian Michaels Online program she prescribes a low-fat, low-carb, high-protein diet that’s anything but complicated. She’s busy, and she knows the rest of us are, too. America’s toughest trainer doesn’t take kindly to excuses so you can’t tell her you don’t have time to make something healthy.

It’s easy to see Jillian’s approach to eating is balanced, wholesome, and tastes darn good when you look at some of the recipes she’s published.

Jillian Michaels Breakfast

Frittata with Spinach, Potatoes, Peppers, and Feta – Start the day with this egg dish loaded with fresh vegetables and just a touch of feta cheese. Would pair well with a cup of yogurt and fresh fruit. She pitches Yoplait on the show; we tend to favor Chobani.

Jillian Michaels Lunch

Ham and Apple on Grilled Country Bread – Here’s a sneaky way to add a serving of fruit to your day. It’s Jillian’s take on the classic grilled cheese using savory ham, sweet and crispy apples, a thin slice of cheese, and finished honey and dijon mustard.

Guacamole – This is Jillian’s personal guacamole recipe and makes a terrific side dish with the sandwich for lunch. It’s a classic take on this dip that you can pair with baked sweet potato chips or fresh veggie sticks.

Jillian Michaels Dinner

Fancy Fish Sticks – Jillian would never endorse those “frankenfood” fish sticks in a box, but this homemade version gets her approval. Bake white fish coated in bread crumbs for a family-friendly meal that’s ready in less than 30 minutes. As an alternative, roll the fish sticks in corn tortillas with the guacamole for an easy fish taco!

Curried Baby Carrots – Pair the fish sticks with a fresh take on the standard carrot. Jillian uses non-fat mayo and sour cream with curry powder for a bold dinner side dish. This season, looked for specially marked packages of baby carrots from Grimmway Farms, which feature a Biggest Loser sweepstakes for prizes including a trip to the Biggest Loser Resort.

Jillian Michaels Snacks

If you’re snacking like this trainer, you’ll leave out high fructose corn syrup, MSG, and artificial sweeteners, colors, and flavors. Those aren’t bad rules to live by.

Start by staying hydrated with her Cranberry Diet Drink. You can make 60 ounces with distilled water each day. Last week, she told Dr. Oz that her refrigerator staple is sparkling water with fresh lemon juice.

Then, when munchies strike, try some of Jillian’s go-to snacks, like hummus and veggies, PopChips (she’s an investor!), hard boiled eggs, or even sorbet.
