Salma Hayek Helps Launch The Breakfast Project

In an effort to encourage healthy breakfasts for families across the country, Salma Hayek is working to kick off a new campaign that will emphasize starting every morning with a breakfast that includes milk.

We’ve been told forever that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but millions of people skip breakfast altogether or make poor food decisions for their morning meal. About one in five Americans don’t eat or drink anything in the morning so The Breakfast Project is hoping to change people’s view of that all-important meal.

Actress Salma Hayek is teaming up with the National Milk Mustache “got milk?” Campaign in conjunction with The Breakfast Project to encourage people to enjoy breakfast at home and ensure that milk is on the menu. TV chef and dietician Ellie Krieger is also working with the project offering tips and recipes through the web site.

Hayek will be featured throughout the bilingual campaign. She will star in two TV commercials, which will start airing on February 27, titled Come Drink Your Milk and Midnight Run. There will also be three print ads that will run beyond 2024.

Speaking about the importance of breakfast, Hayek stated, “I make sure that my family has a nutritious breakfast every day. We often keep it simple with cereal and milk at breakfast, or sometimes we have some fun and make smoothies with milk and fruit. As long as my daughter has that glass of milk, I know that she’s getting calcium, protein and other nutrients to help her be strong, focused and ready for the day.” Hayek’s emphasis on breakfast shows that you don’t have to eat an elaborate and time consuming meal, but getting something that includes milk can be essential to starting your day.

Studies have consistently shown that skipping breakfast or missing out on milk with your morning meal makes it nearly impossible to take in the right amount of key nutrients that your body needs.

Unfortunately, the frequency of skipping breakfast has been on the rise, particularly with children and teenagers. If you and your family need some help getting on track with breakfast in the morning, TheBreakfastProject.com offers insight and inspiration that will help you makeover your mornings. The web site also includes recipes, insight from other moms and other information about the research done surrounding breakfast habits in America.

Your mornings may be the busiest time of your day, but The Breakfast Project can show you how to get into a healthy breakfast routine at home to start your day off properly.
