Jennifer Garner is making news for being normal. We think that’s refreshing for Hollywood. The 39-year-old actress gave birth to her third child on February 27 and hasn’t lost all her baby weight yet.
Garner and actor husband Ben Affleck welcomed baby Samuel to their family in February. The couple also have two daughters, Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3. The busy mother admits she’d like to get back to her pre-baby body, however, she’s simply too busy caring for all her children to rush into a strict regimen just yet.
Garner does have a yoga instructor come to the home a few days a week, but that’s enough for her right now. Garner also feels she has gained more weight with this pregnancy as she was preoccupied with her two girls and struggled to eat as healthy as she could.
Simply put, Garner wants to lose the baby weight, it’s just not a priority for her right now. She’s motivated to get to it as she’s still wearing her maternity clothes, but she’s not going to rush it.
Garner also admits she struggles to keep her pregnancy weight gain low. That extra gain makes losing it quickly all the more difficult. The pressure from the media does get to her though.
“I do feel pressure, but I can’t seem to be pregnant without gaining 45 pounds, so there’s not a lot I can do about it.”
The current celebrity trend seems to be too unrealistic for most mothers, Garner included. When Beyonce is walking the red carpet in a form fitting dress just days after giving birth or Hilary Duff is tweeting from the gym ten days after she delivers, the pressure to lose the weight is high.
It’s nice to know that Garner is more like the rest of us. Carrying a baby for nine months, delivering the baby, and then trying to adjust to a new life with baby, especially two other children, is more exhausting than any gym workout. Good for her for taking this precious time and enjoying it.
